He IS a child. If he were 25, I might agree with you. But at 15 most of us are still reacting to the world the way that our parents have taught us to react.
I don't care if he saw his dad kill his mother. His father did not put that gun in his hand, Brandan chose to take that gun and kill someone. He cannot blame his father. People need to take responsibity for their own actions and stop trying to pin the blame on their childhoods. The majority of people who have had bad childhoods don't grow up and kill someone.

Ask yourself one question: "Do you believe that Brandon would have murdered a girl who was 'sexually harassing' him in the same manner?"

If your answer is yes, then homophobia has nothing to do with this murder.

If it is no, then you must admit that homophobia was a factor.
If a girl were sexually harrassing Brandan it wouldn't have affected him as much as it did with Larry. Brandan was straight, and any attention from a girl would have been welcome. If a girl had have made out that they were intimate, Brandan would have loved that - it's completely different when it's someone of the same sex, someone who deliberately goes out of their way to make you feel awkward.

I don't condone what Brandan did, but I can certainly understand it. Larry was in the wrong for a very long time, and I think he knew that. He just didn't care.

Brandon hasn't grown up at all yet. He is 15 years old.
Right now America spends $700 billion every year on foreign oil. That's our money going overseas when it could be staying here. We have to stop this.

No need to shout.

Yes, I believe that parents should be held responsible for the behavior of their minor children. Especially so when it can be shown, as it can be here, that the parent taught the child to engage in criminal behavior.

Actually the law doesn't agree. 15 year olds are being charged as adults all the time now. Even those raised under less than ideal circumstances.

OMG, someone ordinarily pro-gay posts an opinion that goes against the gay mafia here. Be prepared -- you will soon be called a bigot, etc.

Brandans father did not shoot his mother, then hand him the gun and say 'here son, you might need it one day'.

A 15 year old knows the difference between right and wrong. Sorry if you don't seem to agree.

Sounds like he was on some bad drugs and did not have control of his own faculties.

Sad story.

I don't think the cops did anything wrong, I mean, what can you do? If you can't physically restrain someone that out of control, you have to use your sidearm.
