So, I took your words, substituted the gay equivalent ("militant homos" for "Christian fundies", since "fundie" is a derogatory shorthand for "fundamentalist"), and posted it, knowing that you would rise to the bait.

The conceit of your arguments is also absurd. You aren't "wiping the floor" of anyone. Gay marriage is not accepted in 48 states, and it is not accepted at all at the federal level. No candidate for President supports gay marriage. Are they both paranoid and fearful bigots?

Pretty much. Plus they're pandering to the paranoid and fearful bigots in their constituency. But then that's what candidates do - tell the people what they think they want them to hear, because they don't have the balls to stand on their own two feet instead of bending any way the political wind blows.

You have good arguments to support gay marriage, yet you and others insist on using ad hominem attacks on your opponents. Not everyone who opposes gay marriage is a "bigot." GLAAD, thankfully, does not use those tactics and there's a good reason for it. The only point of my posts was to point out the hypocrisy of demanding that society be fair and open-minded to your lifestyle choices and political opinions while at the same time being close-minded and hateful to those who oppose you.

Actually, by attempting to keep equal rights and legal protections from some citizens because of their membership in a discriminated-against minority is the DEFINITION of a bigot.
