It has not been answered. Show me in the constitution where it states a person cannot lead a prayer at a high school football game. You can't. All you can do is say..."read between the lines". That's pathetic.

Actually it has been answered by Jaxian, foundit, I, constitutional lawyers, the Supreme Court, and even Thomas frickin Jefferson; and not "read between the lines". Your refusal (or inability rather) to accept it does not make a valid argument. This is all you do. When presented with something that proves you wrong, you don't counter it with any substantiation, you only throw an insult and restate your opinion.

All this WISDOM coming from a smart ass college kid.

The bottom line is that the constitution did NOT ban public prayers. Neither did it ban religion. It did NOT ban public display of religious symbols.

It guarantees that the government will not set up, run, and execute a theocracy. Of course, since you think the constitution is "fluid" and is to be chnaged and manipulated to fit your own agenda, you won't see this either.

You lie like a dog.
I have answered your question.

The constitution states that our government can "make no law respecting an establishment of religion".
So what does "establishment of religion" mean then?

THAT is where you get stupid as you claim that phrase means JUST the setting up of a state religion.
"establishment of religion" includes a LOT more than just explicitly claiming a state religion.

And note, the clause says "establishment OF religion".
Not "establishment of A religion".
Ergo, our government is obviously PRECLUDED from getting entangled in religion. ANY religion. The ISSUE of religion in general.

If the government has a coach who is leading prayer at a football game, THAT is an example of establishment of religion. The coach, a representative of the government, is endorsing a religion. VIOLATING the establishment clause.

This has all been explained to you before.
And you'll CONTINUE to avoid the explanation now.

In a few posts, you'll ask the same stupid question and get this same reply.

It's funny how you and alias keep missing CRUCIAL parts of the discussion.
We ARE NOT talking about banning "public prayers".
We ARE NOT talking about banning religion.
We ARE NOT talking about banning public display of religious symbols.

What we ARE talking about is banning governmental ENDORSEMENT with governmental INVOLVEMENT in school prayer.
What we ARE talking about is banning governmental ENDORSEMENT of religion.
What we ARE talking about is banning public display of religious symbols on GOVERNMENTAL property which do not have a primary secular purpose.

It does a heck of a lot more than just preventing a "theocracy".
See above, which has been posted for the umpteenth time...

I have an earned Masters Degree - and the only reason I don't yet have a PhD or Doctorate is because I've put that on hold due to kids going to college.

What do you have?

That's funny.

I thought this was a cry-baby thread - from the father of all cry-babies - about how homosexuals are being discriminated against.

Wrong. I dont' care how many educated dummies you say said so and so. They are wrong. There is no place in the constitution that says you are restricted from praying publicly at school or any school event. This was manufactured by liberal lawyers, judges, etc. People swallowed it because some idiot in a robe said it. No one has the right to tell anyone when and where they can publicly pray in this country. I will defend that right with all I have and I am not alone.

I would have one of the team players lead the prayer then. You can't stop that. There is always a way around you fascists.

According to the constitutional right to free speech. He has every right to lead a prayer, he does not, howevor, have the right to force anyone to pray or to allocate special time on the clock to pray.

A big difference from the coach losing by two touchdowns in the 4th quarter, praying to god with his team to pull of a win. Then the Coach mandating prayer as a requisite for being on the team.

Prayer isnt an evil thing. If a Jewish kid wants to pray, allow him to pray, if a Muslim kid wants to pray allow him to pray. And all of them whether on a football team, or the debate club, have a right to pray.

Their is no ban on prayer in schools, only forced prayer for schools. Meaning, your welcome to pray, just not at the endorsement of the school or against your will.

Secondly, Religous Imagery is art. You wish to ban art? I thought there was nothing wrong with having art in school.
