I didn't post "an article" - I posted the official statement from the American Psychiatric Association - the major accredited professional mental health association in the United States.

It's not as if I went to ilovegays.com and found a sentence to quote

Conservatism: Self-centered mean-spiritedness fueled by ignorance and misguided self-importance.

Bigotry is a social disease.

Legalized same-sex marriage almost certainly benefits those same-sex couples who choose to marry, as well as the children being raised in those homes. - David Blankenhorn is president of the New York-based Institute for American Values and the author of "The Future of Marriage."

Oh.
It's from NARTH?

never mind. LOL

But if we're going to start using "proof" about things from the big book of Fairy Tales, can we use Grimm's version?

Actually, I'm glad that you don't feel the need for links - I get tired of posting all those authenticating links all the time.

Here's a novel idea. Fix the depression instead of the sexual orientation.

If homosexuals were equal to heterosexuals, they would be allowed to marry and adopt children. Obviously they are not equal.

Since homosexuals can adopt children (in all states but Florida), and they can be married in one state (MA), does that mean they're partially equal?

Not the one they truly love.

Your argument is an outdated one, and moot. It went away after the paranoia of inter-racial marriages went away.

If a gay man marries a woman, or a lesbian marries a heterosexual man, both are destined for a loveless, meaningless marriage, which is the exact opposite of what is desired in a union. The biggest factors of success in marriage is the length and happiness of the couple together, not sex.

I have never ever understood these people who want to "defend" the sanctity of marriage - but cavalierly say that gay people can just marry people of the opposite sex. Do they really have no more respect for marriage and family than that?!

I can't imagine these people wanting their daughters or granddaughters marrying a gay man. What kind of marriage do they think it would be?!

Of course, I also have never understood how more people entering the contract of marriage is going to destory the contract of marriage LOL. It just seems like upside down thinking.
