Deliberately Transmitting HIV
Deliberately Transmitting HIV
What is a "bug chaser?"

A bug chaser is a gay man who deliberately attempts to contract HIV by having unprotected sex with a man or group of men who are known to have the virus.

What is a "gift giver?"

A gift giver is an HIV positive gay man who deliberately transmits the virus, often times to bug chasers, or those willing to contract it.

What are bug parties?

Bug parties are sex parties often ranging from a few to as much as 30 people. Unsafe sex with every participant at the party is encouraged. There are several variations of bug parties. At some, there is one member of the "orgy" that is HIV positive. Only this individual and the host know his positive status.

The remaining participants know that there is an infected person in the room, but do not know his identity. The participants then partake in a night usually filled with alcohol, drugs and of course unsafe sex.

In other variations of a bug party, there is one person who is not infected with HIV, however the other participants are or may be. Every one is aware of the person who disease free. The HIV negative person then allows the infected guys to have unprotected anal sex with him.

Why do people participate in bug parties?

Many psychologists theorize that participation in bug parties is actually an anxiety disorder where the non-infected individuals fear getting HIV so greatly that they would rather contract it and free themselves of the anxiety of living in fear. These parties are also seen as a sort of club for those living with HIV. Infecting a HIV negative and willing participant initiates them into their world. Some people also engage in unprotected anal sex (or barebacking) as the fear for AIDS dangerously dwindles.

"The Gift" from filmmaker Louise Hogarth is a documentary about gay men who purposely contract HIV. According to Rolling Stone, one character in the film admits "I was relieved. I didn't have to worry. Do I need to be careful -- not any more." Yet another willing 21-year-old regrets his choice. "I've made a terrible mistake and there's no fixing that. There is no benefit in this and that's what needs to be said."

Sounds like a pretty sane reaction to me.

But you're right - young straight people never make stupid mistakes. There is no question - making bad choices about one's sexual life is definitely only a homosexual problem.

by the way - what does this have to do with gay marriage?

Why didn't you quote the one who said he was relieved? Another case of selective propaganda. You are way to easy. I don't know of any straights deliberately spreading a deadly disease. That's my point. That is mental illness. Just more proof of the confused selfish lives you all lead.

a.) why do you only consider the quote of the person who said he was relieved? There were two people's quotes - both of opposite opinions. LOL what makes YOUR 'quote' the important one? LOL

b.) you dont? Every news article I've read of a person convicted of attempted murder was of a straight man DELIBERATELY spreading AIDS to a woman. I agree THAT is mental illness. Luckily, I know enough not to attribute those actions to all straight people.

I am not the one who picked the one quote he wanted. YOU are. I put both of them up there because they both were in the article. YOU are the one who was being biased. Another example of the dishonesty of homos.

What articles? Produce all of the articles of straight men trying to give AIDS to women.

This crap has already been debunked as being a problem with a rare SMALL PERCENTAGE of gays.
There are straights out there who believe that knocking up their girl-friend in high school is the thing to do to keep her. Does that make the ENTIRE GROUP of heterosexuals "mentally ill"?

All this is is the same crap over and over again. Looking at the actions of a SMALL PERCENTAGE of homosexuals, and then LYING and pretending that it's indicative of the entire group.

Give us the stats that prove it's a small percentage. I'm really interested.

I would not think guys in high school would deliberately want to ruin their lives by getting their girlfriends pregnant. I would think the girls would have a say in that matter foundit. It would make more sense for girls to want to get pregnant to try to keep the guy rather than the guy wanting to get the girl pregnant to keep the girl. That's stupid.

A girl getting pregnant is not the same as deliberately spreading a disease that kills. Another poor analogy.

Here are a few articles.
As far as your demand that I post ALL of the articles, well, what can I say - up yours.
Personally, I thought you would have run across all these stories while trolling the internet for stories about gays with AIDS. I guess the stories about heterosexuals who spread AIDS intentionally just don't do much to validate your irrational bigotry, does it?

YOu're some kind of case. LOL LOL LOL

You posted the article. You are trying to suggest this a common phenomenon in the gay community.

So, um, why do YOU give us the stats? All we've seen so far is an editorial article that says "some" gay people. Does that mean 300 or 300,000? Certainly there is nothing in the article to suggest that it is very very very unusual - hence, a news article about it.
