As far as his entering the political arena, you know, I have to bring this up.....what he preached was against abortion, against homosexual behavior, against Hollywood glamorizing the lowest common denominator in our culture, and against anything that was destructive of the family. Churches have ALWAYS done this, it wasn't anything new.

Funny, but it was politicians who brought up the subjects, subjects generally and normally taught about in churches around the world. It was the politicians who actively became involved in advocating these very things!

Were outsiders and unbelievers NOT advocating these things, were Hollywood not glorifying such things, guess what? No one would have ever known he was even alive.

He didn't bring religion into politics......it was the other way around. It still is today.

Today, you even have schools telling children their parents are wrong....

It wasn't the Moral Majority or the Christian Coalition or any other group that was bringing the issues into politics.....it was the politicians bring up the subjects.

For that matter, there are more liberal Christians in this country than conservative, and they are usually against abortion, homosexual behavior, and glorification of the worst in the culture by Hollywood.

You seem to utterly misapprehend the dynamic by which this separation functions.

It does not (for example, though clearly you have never asserted otherwise) prohibit Christians from voting.

Instead, it prohibits Christians in Congress from voting to require Christian prayer in U.S. government (so called "public" [in the U.S.] schools).
Exactly.

It prohibits prayer in public schools (which could be considered as pandering to atheists) yet it doesn't prohibit teaching that it's "ok to be gay" - so giving an advantage to the homosexual activists.

I have thought it through, why must inalienable rights be given by a divine creature? Why can't it be recognized as having been given to all people?

Why should I take lessons on the Constitution from a Brit?

Given by whom?

Why should I take lessons on the Constitution from a Brit?
Because it was written by Brits.

Andyou are clearly confused

That's the Declaration of Independence, not the Constitution. Maybe the Brit knows more about it...i dunno. But you can't be "given" something from no one....perhaps you can choose to say "claimed" but then, everyone can claim things....it's not quite the same somehow.

I will be back to enlighten you in the truth Gary. As I see you need more understanding regarding marriage. Yes, I will share with you my advice on that very topic.

But I must run very soon, out the door...

For now I want to touch on unalienable rights and those said to be given by a Divine Being.

I have to say, even as a believer, that a government document ought not speak of rights given by a being that cannot plainly speak those rights.

I believe in God. But have the common sense to know my faith is subjective and not shared by others. Nor would I want to impose it and the way it defines life for me on others who do not share it.

Truth be told, God is silent on human rights.
And please, please, puh-lease do not refer to the Bible. The displays of his capricious annihilation of people time and time again does not advance your argument against reasonable atheists.

They were not brits anymore... and you are clearly as confused, and twice as ignorant. Lets not turn this into the fourth grade. Lay off the psychological evaluations ok? Because you surely won't like my evaluations of you.

I already know your biases - don't dish it out if you can't take it!

Fact is the men who drafted the Declaration of Independence, and the Constitution, were Brits by name and by nature.

And you still haven't explained how another individual can "endow inalienable rights"?
