Some of this talk about this country not being ready for or wanting a woman President is a bunch of crap...

If a viable woman candidate is offered by either party, the voters within that party will support her. Hilliary is the leading Democrat outdistancing herself from all the other candidates. If the Republicans were to offer a viable woman candidate, their voters too would support her. Unfortunately for many Republicans Condi is not interested in running, her dream job is Commissioner of the NFL. However, in a few years I am hoping that my current governor, Sarah Palin, will get into the mix. She is still a political novice, in her first term as governor here in Alaska, but give her some time and I hope one day to be campaigning for her.

Someone made the comment if women led the world there would be no wars. How idealistic, sort of like the whole Kid Nation ideal on CBS. Unfortunately the real world shatters that myth. Like it or not there will be disputes between nations regardless of who is their leader, and wars will occur. Disputes will always occur because of who has what and who wants what, woman can be just as diabolic as men when it comes to leading.

Conservatism, I repeat is not an ideology. It does not breed fanatics....But if you want men who seek, reasonably and prudently, to reconcile the best in wisdom of our ancestors with the change which is essential to a vigorous civil social existence, then you will do well to turn to conservative principles

Oh, well, no wonder it is so far away, and cold in the winter, too.

Or perhaps it has to do with how she has made her political career. Some of it has to do with her allowing her husband's infidelities for her own political gain. She stood by her husband repeatedly despite the affairs, so she could keep the name and keep the political machine running.

Those are just a few of the things off the top of my head....

That's a little uncharitable Sarge, after all there's no rule stating that Senators need to be born and raised in the states they represent.

Why not find the best man, or woman, for the job?

How many NY Yankees players were born in NY, or Lakers players in LA etc.

As for sticking with Bill for selfish political ambitions, we have no proof of that. None of us know what goes on between a man and his wife.

Many would see her act of forgiveness as eminently laudable, and proof that she can succeed in difficult situations. Once she makes a commitment she sticks to it.

Compared to, say, Guiliani or McCain both of whom have failed marriages in their pasts. Several in Guiliaini's case.

I'm surprised at your cynicism Sarge - surprised and disappointed! You're usually so balanced and even-handed!

Lighten up, Sarge. It was said in jest, namely "there would be no wars, just once a month some very intense negotiations".

I think you and PN need to get together. You could make him more serious and he could give you a touch of a sense of humor.

She would be an example of a "successful" operation then.
