| Myanmar breaks up rallies, cuts Internet I'm surprised no one has jumped all over this. Here we have a country whose people obviously want a democracy, and what do we do? We impose sanctions. This could turn into an international nightmare. They've already killed Buddhist monks and others for peacefully protesting. I think we should be doing more. They're trying to keep Americans from speaking out too, but I think those over there know the risks. Quote:

| Because the people are peaceful and are being victimized by a violent leadership. I believe in defending the weak, not exploiting them. I once spent a week in Burma, it's a fascinating country. It's as though the clock stopped when we British granted its independence in 1947. | ||||||||||||||||||||||

| Why did you Brits give up your colonies so easily? Every freaking country that used to be a UK colony is a shithole now - America being the exception of course. | |||||||||||||||||||||

Look what's happened in Zimbabwe under Mugabe since 1981. Some, like Sierra Leone, would like to return to being a British colony! All I can tell you is we were the greatest country on the planet until we gave women the vote, then it all went downhill..... | ||||||||||||||||||||||

| She was the best man for the job at the time, I have nothing but praise for her! Ironically, women didn't have the vote whilst Queen Victoria was on the throne which was probably Britain's most outstanding era. Or one of them. | |||||||||||||||||||||

| Truthfully Gary the majority of married women vote inline with what their husband's desires or opinions are. So putting the voting blame off on the women does not cut it. Even in politics the majority of women I have watch that were getting into politics get there via their husband's aspirations and desires. | |||||||||||||||||||||
