I have to wonder if anyone bothered to point out to the owner of the business that he should not have the Mexican flag flying above the U.S. flag. If not then it is possible that he was just ignorant.

I have seen numerous instances of violations of flag protocol right here in my own town. And by people who were born and raised here and should know better.

It burns me up every time I see it but not once have I been tempted to steal their flag.

Somehow I think that if I had done the same thing that this man did the day I saw a soggy, tattered, nasty U.S. flag flying over the local Ford dealership that I would not have been hailed a hero. As a matter of fact, I'm pretty sure that it would have landed my butt in jail for a few days.
Right now America spends $700 billion every year on foreign oil. That's our money going overseas when it could be staying here. We have to stop this.

I'm just wondering what would happen to a German of Turkish decent if they flew the Turkish flag above the German flag. In some areas (namely East Germany), they would probably be attacked by neo-Nazis (I'm not trying to sound arrogant here; I'm actually serious; East Germany has many race problems).

European society (especially Eastern) is in no way (micro-socially speaking) less intolerant than many Americans. I used to follow the beat that Europeans like to play when they're disgusted at American intolerance or violence; but I think I've realized that in many places it's worse in Europe.

To me, what this man did to the flag is pretty mild. I think he's getting way too worked up about it, personally. But all I'm saying is that at least we're really no longer in the era where a lynching would have been the popular method of dealing with this issue.

I personally think the people flying that Mexican flag over the American flag are pretty ignorant: just like morons in the South who fly their confederate flags over the flag of the US, and the morons in Texas who do the same with the Texan flag. But I'm not getting all worked up about it; it seems to me that it's their right to express themselves. The owners of that place could actually challenge the law that says one cannot fly another country's flag over the United States. To me it seems unconstitutional.
