Great find!

I did indeed enjoy that. Its quite about time that an individual such as herself got more airtime over the Arab world.

But I think there seems to be some misunderstandings here. What we as Americans are so easy to take for assumption is that all Arab people, or all Muslim people for that matter, take the position of the cleric. I think you would be surprised at just how many Muslims actually take on a position more like Mrs. Wafa Sultan. All you really hear about are the minority of Islam being taken by radical nationalism and by the teachings of radical clerics.

Likewise, much is the same in Christianity. I agree with Wafa Sultan. However much of the same preaching can be done onto not just Islam but Christianity. For a war, both sides must take place in the fighting, in the hatred. Christianity is just as guilty as Islam in this fued and others in the past; and sometimes more or less than others.

Like in Islam, most Christians take the side of Wafa Sultan. Most people don't know it but Christianity is more liberal as apposed to right-wing. Its just that you get individuals like the cleric you saw on that clip on the airwaves and governments of both cultures, unfortunatly.

But another thing that you guys seem to be taking for generalization, is that the insurgency in Iraq isn't as much as a religious war or a jihad on their part as it is an Iraqi resistence. Over 90% of the insurgents in Iraq are Iraqis, fueled more on the idea that foreign invaders are occupying their lands, stealing their resources, and setting up facades; rather than the idea of western Christians waging a crusade.

We can debate all day whether or not the Americans truely are reigning tyranny, stealing their resources, and setting up a puppet government and it really wont matter at all. It doesn't matter what you or I think the administration's true intentions in the Middle East are. Because the Iraqis got that message of oppressive occupiers, and is why they are rebelling.

The Muslim clerics in power in the Middle East indeed have somewhat "Middle-Aged" ideas or tendencies. But you also have to face that so does the American leadership. Afterall it is our president that believes God chose him for his presidency, and told him to bring "freedom and democracy to the Middle East". And it was our president that actually said it was a "crusade" on live television.

But a great clip, and a good find. Although I wish I could have seen it unedited and cut out. Although I don't agree with the cleric I still would have liked to see what he said.

Actually, most of the insurgents are Sunni Iraqis who are discontent over their loss of power to the more fundamentalist, and more populous Shi'ite Iraqis, who now control the parliament.
