UN Reform
UN Reform is big news right now, many feel that the international body is pretty ineffectual; John Mc Cain has effectively suggested it should be sidelined in favour of a League of Democracies. Which begs the question of whether there should be some sort of criteria for UN membership. However the UN is arguably legitimate precisely because it is a world body, no other insitution has the clout that comes from having almost all the worlds countries on board, pulling together to achieve goals that face everyone around the globe, regardles of nationality, geography or economy.

At the Influx Project we consider that the UN needs our support to iron out its creases and make it work more effectively. A key means of doing this is via increasing civic participation in the UN. This goes someway to addressing concerns over UN membership, because with the influx project memberstates can be better held to account for their actions via a global body of citizens. The Influx Project also provides a guage to measure which countries are most behind the UN and discover who really wants the UN to succeed!

Much much more can be found out about the InfluxProject on www.influxproject.org- take a look and get involved!!
