A man is an image. When someone says "man" you have a distinct set of characteristics, of limitations, of appearance, of anatomy. God has none of these things. Creating any image of God is idolatry. A man is a likeness and has a likeness, and therefore it is idolatry to say that a man is also God.

Exodus 20:3
"You shall not make a graven image, nor any manner of likeness, of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth;"
Well, a man would certainly fall into that catagory.

It's also in Deuteronomy 5:7
"You shall not make a graven image, even any manner of likeness, of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth."

If God had a son, how is that someone making a graven image? I looked up graven image in the dictionary and it said "an idol carved from stone or wood. A human being walking around would not be an idol or a carved image.

"Nor" doesn't mean and. It means that ANY LIKENESS falls into that catagory.

Where did you get "nor"? The dictionary says any likeness CARVED from wood or stone is a graven image. If a man walks around claiming to be God, that is not a graven image because according to the dictionary, he is not carved from wood or stone. He would either be a lunatic or God, but not a graven image.

What does this have to do with the dictionary? The line doesn't stop at graven images. It goes on to mention any likenesses, and "any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth."

Kyoto is not necessarily about the environment, because it is true the U.S is the second largest emitter on greenhouse gases in the world second to China. It comes down U.S in it's current stance attempting to persue a policy of "isolationism". I personally believe the reduction levels can be met.

So how about them gas prices??

My God this thread is sooo long.

Don't know if it was mentioned, but if every state dropped all of their standard mixtures and ran on just 1 mixture...i'm sure gas prices would drop tremedously!
