Man. I could almost write Alias's spew at this stage of the game. I've heard it that often.

His standard reply should be to insist that you think he should be silenced, since obviously liberals have a double standard for freedom of speech, and therefore he disagrees with you...

Of course, now he'll have to think of some other inane response to give you...

So then, is it safe for me to say that you will never consider a "liberal's" idea or solution to a political question simply because he is a liberal?

If you're answer is yes, my question is simply why? You admitted yourself that conservatives don't always have good ideas. So they have some good, some bad. How could it be different for liberals? I am just asking because 9 times out of 10 you respond to something with an almost pre-fabricated propagandous conservative response. You don't seem to analyze things for their content or purpose, but rather take an idea on face value, and seemingly discredit anything somebody says who is classified as a liberal. I think you are just completely steadfast and unwavering in your brand of conservatism, which seems to me has been handed to you from a mixture of propaganda from the Bush Adminstration, the Christian Right, and Fox News.
But it don't take much to get me by

Hehe, well these kind of contradict each other. You both disagree with ideas of a liberal, but you consider all views.

I guess I have to agree with the others here: it is pretty ridiculous to disagree with an idea simply because it is a liberal idea. I fear you have been taken in by right-wing media sources which attempts to suggest that "liberal" is an insult of some sort.

I can give this only as advice, but I think it good advice: do not automatically reject an idea simply because it is a liberal idea or because it is presented by a liberal. You may find that if you give a liberal a chance to state his opinion without automatically making a judgement against it, that this liberal has something interesting to say.

I recommend also taking conservative sources, such as Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity, with a grain of salt. They choose the issues they talk about, the people they talk to, and the direction of each conversation in a fashion designed solely to come to the conclusion that liberals are wrong.

It is a safe rule to follow that any time someone makes a generalization about liberals or conservatives, you should probably simply disregard it. Stick to understanding each issue individually instead of choosing issues based on whether they are "liberal" or "conservative".

Well I guess that did sound kinda contradictory. Actually, I really did like a couple decisions by liberals.......the concession speechs of Al Gore and John Kerry.
