There are no laws which state you don't have a right to drink coffee in a VA hospital if you're wearing a shirt that some might object to and you "planned" it.

There are NO LAWS against that.
There is NOTHING WRONG with that.
It's a FREEDOM OF SPEECH.

And the "race card" was a direct response to another poster who seemed to be insinuating that this VETERAN should have gotten a drink of coffee some place else. This isn't a "segregated" area where liberals go on place and conservatives go another.
But of course, the point of my sarcasm went over your head, as usual...
Why use race? You use black with liberal and white with conservative. Why? There are black conservatives and white liberals. Why? Was that part of your sarcasm also?

Instead of changing this into a conversation about race, why not try to form some sort of agreement.

I haven't yet seen anyone contest the idea that this man should not have been arrested because of his shirt. If he was actively doing some sort of protesting inside the building, that is a different story. But surely we can all agree that wearing a political shirt inside this hospital is not reason for arrest.

I also think we all agree that children should be able to wear religious symbols and icons in schools.

If anyone disagrees with one of these things, let him say which one and why.

Foundit used the race card.

I agree with you that children should be able to wear religious symbols and icons in schools according to the 1st amendment.

Man. You are seriously lost in this...
It was a sarcastic analogy to underscore the described SEGREGATION.

It's funny how YOU blame liberals for the divide in America, but you don't see how this example of a liberal GETTING ARRESTED is a PREMIERE example of how conservatives are dividing America.

I also agree with that, as long as it doesn't conflict with other school policies.
Like if a school mandates uniforms for students, a Christian doesn't get a free pass to violate the rule based on "religion".
But above all, equal application needs to be applied.

But you didn't comment on the other part alias.
Do you think it was wrong that this man was arrested for just wearing a t-shirt?
Or are you going to stick to your tactic of division?

Why was your liberal a black and you conservative a white? Nothing like stereotyping your sarcasm is there with race. Who are the ones trying to change america with their "progressive" agenda? Liberals. Who are the ones fighting back to keep America in line with traditional American values? Conservatives. America was not as divided ever until this age. Common sense tells anyone that it is the liberals with their agenda who are dividing America.

I think he was wrong when he took his protest inside. That was wrong because now he is interfering with the daily operation of the hospital. His intent was to get noticed and he did.

Maybe because it was the LIBERAL who was arrested because he drank at the wrong coffee area and the BLACK MAN who would get arrested because he drank at the wrong coffee area.

Actually, I see it more as conservatives who can't realize that they need to get with modern times and acknowledge female equality. Acknowledge racial equality. Acknowledge sexual orientation equality.
But that's just my opinion.

The world is changing for the better, and the dinosaurs are screaming from the tar pits...
How's that for an answer?

<end sarcasm>

But seriously, we have had differences of opinion before in this country. Conservatives and liberals have always been around.
Conservatives fought to hold back women's rights while liberals fought for equality.
Conservatives fought to hold blacks in segregation while liberals fought for equality.
Part of the problem is that BOTH sides have people that are NO LONGER LISTENING to the other side. And you are a prime example of that.

Alias, YOUR opinions are out of step with the majority. The majority BELIEVE IN first trimester abortion. The majority BELIEVE IN gay equal rights with the sole exception of gay marriage.

And YOU are trying to divide things by dragging us back into the stone age.

So you've just admitted that what I was saying is RIGHT. The guy didn't "just happen to be there" getting a cup of coffee.

The whole story is BS. It's just a whole lot of attention-whoring crap.

Oh I see. You have to go back 60 years during segregation for an example and then you jump on me for going back a few years to show Saddam is a terrorist. There's a word for that you know.

Living in modern times does not mean we have to toss away our values we have held as a nation since our birth. How do you make that connection?
