Maybe because it was the LIBERAL who was arrested because he drank at the wrong coffee area and the BLACK MAN who would get arrested because he drank at the wrong coffee area.
I'm also aware that you OFTEN resort to the old "you didn't catch my humor" defense, when you get your butt pounded into the ground.

What part of HE WAS NOT AN INNOCENT PERSON WHO JUST HAPPENED TO BE ARRESTED FOR DRINKING COFFEE do you NOT understand?

He did NOT "just happen to be drinking coffee" when he ran into problems. DO YOU COMPREHEND THAT?

The FACT is that he is writing ONE SIDE OF THE STORY - THE SIDE THAT MAKES HIM LOOK GOOD. Do you NOT understand that?

This is no different than my 20-year old son who, just yesterday, got pulled over and ticketed for speeding. And hey - guess what? Wouldn't you know it? It wasn't his fault? He was just following somebody ELSE who was speeding, and HE got screwed.

I suppose you'd have to be a little older, and be a parent to understand this.

Do we have another story that states he was doing more that just drinking coffee? Maybe if we could use more that one source we could have a better understanding of what was happening. But unless I see something that says otherwise, I do not see a reason to believe he was doing something else.

Okay, first of all, here's the deal...

This is what the guy wrote - in the beginning of his article:
Quote:
Friday afternoon, drinking a cup of coffee while sitting in the Jesse Brown V.A. Medical Center on Chicago's south side, a Veterans Administration cop walked up to me and said, "Okay, you've had your 15 minutes, it's time to go."
In the next paragraph, he writes:
Quote:
"You can't be in here protesting," Officer Adkins said, pointing to my Veterans For Peace shirt.

"Well, I'm not protesting, I'm having a cup of coffee," I returned, thinking that logic would convince Adkins to go back to his earlier duties of guarding against serious terrorists.
NEWSFLASH: The man WAS there protesting. Maybe not INSIDE, but he was ON THE PROPERTY PROTESTING.

Now... the very fact that he would state, AND WRITE, "I'm not protesting, I'm having a cup of coffee" is a bald-faced lie. Why? Because he WAS there protesting. GET IT?

You can argue that he was not "inside" the building protesting - and I can counter with "he was on the PROPERTY protesting". The bottom line is this: HE WAS ON THE VA MEDICAL CENTER PROPERTY PROTESTING. GET IT?

In other words, this guy was NOT just some guy with a t-shirt, who was thrown out of a VA cafeteria and arrested. THERE IS FAR MORE TO THE STORY THAN THAT. GET IT?

Now, for the record... As I understand the story:
- I believe it was stupid for them to "arrest" him, even though they very quickly "unarrested" him.
- I believe he was there - in the cafeteria - for the express purpose of causing a controversy. After all, he had to do something he could write about.

Try reading the context of a post before butting in and saying something foolish...
I understand English. You compared him to a black man during segregation unable to get coffee at a white restarant. You made the comparison, now take the consequences. Maybe you should think things through before you use the race card.

Seriously. You didn't understand...
I WAS NOT saying that the man in this case was a black man.
I was explaining to Alias why I made my analogy in the way that I did, with respect to somebody else's comment that he should have drank coffee elsewhere.
I was referencing THIS case, with the liberal, to HISTORICAL cases of segregation of blacks and whites.

Geez. I wrote it. Don't you think I know better than you what I was saying?

You don't think he was innocent?
Then tell me WHAT CRIME he was guilty of...
Show me the law that this man broke.

I take it you're being sarcastic with this story and not trying to excuse your son for speeding just because he was following somebody else who was speeding....

You expect a liberal to "think" before pulling out the race card?

You might as well expect pigs to fly.

Jefferson, this really is rediculous. This is all speculation.

I don't see how he was protesting. do you mean that wearing that shirt alone is protesting?

ALIAS understood what I was saying, but Jefferson still doesn't get it.
Now that's pretty damn scary Jefferson...

Oh my. The consequences.
Alias whining incessantly...
How ever shall I cope....
<end sarcasm>

Whine away alias.
Your incessant, inane, and irrelevant whining has less of an effect on me than you calling me a f@66ot...

I'm saying that my son was doing the EXACT SAME THING this guy was doing with his "story" about the "coffee in the VA Medical Center" incident.

He's telling "his side" of the story, because he doesn't want you to know the "whole story".

Once again... the man was NOT an "innocent bystander" who was wrongly mistreated - AS HE CLAIMED. He was there as a protester, and essentially he got kicked out of the cafeteria.

He is a liar. Period. And while lying is not illegal, it destroys credibility. Therefore, I do not believe ANYTHING the man writes. Why? Because he's a liar. Get it?
