| Republican Hypocrisy in Action... Democratic Internet blogger Mark Nickolas, a frequent and outspoken critic of Republican Gov. Ernie Fletcher's administration, claimed Wednesday that state employees have been blocked from logging on to his political blog. "Nothing like a little censorship with your breakfast," Nickolas wrote in a posting on the blog, BluegrassReport.org. "Welcome to the People's Republic of Kentucky." But a spokeswoman for the agency that oversees state computers and technology said employees have been prevented from viewing several blogs and Web sites, not just BluegrassReport.org. http://news.nky.com/apps/pbcs.dll/ar...0103/606220398 Well, well. What a bunch of liars we have running the Fletcher-Pence-Rudolph administration. I know, no shock there. So far this morning, the following conservative/Republican websites are still available for state employee viewing: Drudge Report The Republican National Committee's blog Rush Limbaugh Hugh Hewitt Hot Air Captains Quarters Outside the Beltway http://www.bluegrassreport.org/blueg...ensorship.html "(Gay marriage) is a debate about whether you think gay people are part of the human condition or just a random fetish." -- Jon Stewart "Please don't judge others by your own standards." -- Garysher | |||||||||||||||||||||

| And now, the rest of the story..... "Employees are prevented from reading sites and blogs related to entertainment, humor, newsgroups, online auctions and "malicious Web sites," she said. Employees are permitted to read blogs provided by newspapers, TV stations and networks, and reporters, she said". As a taxpayer, I don't want state employees reading blogs, entertainment, humor, etc, etc on my dime. There is plenty of time when they are not working to do that. Guess what? I work at home but I still can't cruise the net unless I am looking for information related to my work. Is my free speech being restricted? Yes, because I am being paid to do work for my employer, not cruise the net for humor, political blogs, or shop. What a bunch of crybabies. I agree with the governor. | |||||||||||||||||||||
