No, you're the one that is constantly insulting people, in profanity directed straight at people. If anyone insults you, it is because they are insulted first. You're supposed to treat people as you want to be treated. Something tells me you're not as old as you say you are.

And it has nothing to do with "taking the heat". I looked for a good debate site, something not too large or not too small. I saw this site as a good opportunity that featured people from all over the political spectrum. We had great debates until I remember when Jefferson arrived. Instead of adding to the intellectual discourse, he would insult and slander people. To him its not about debating and intellectual discourse, its about "winning" arguments. And then you arrived, and only added greatly to the flames. Sometimes at least Jefferson is bearable, but some of the things you say and do are just rediculous.

People shouldn't have to put up with your crap when they're looking for good debate. People shouldn't have to put up with all the mindless insults and flames. I'm sure the administrator had in mind being able to attract people of a younger age too. And you certainly don't provide a good environment for them. You talk about being morale and acuse liberals of morale decay, yet you turn around and make a bad example of yourself. I seriously hope the moderators and administrator will have serious discusions of banning you.

I don't see much actual name calling from foundit, although when it does come from him, its usually after you have already insulted him, took cheap shots, and angered him.

Don't turn and make this a political issue, because its not. It hasn't anything to do with me being a liberal, or you being a conservative. It has everything to do with people's etiquette. I remember we actually had a decent debate going on in the Popular Mechanics thread. Then all of a sudden you started to resort to insults. You can review it if you like. It usually happens that way.

If you had an email from a moderator (and I can probably guess who) telling you that you're doing a good job by "standing up to the liberals", then I can only say that if the entire administrative team of this forum truely thinks that constant personal insult and flaming is a good thing to have in a debate community, then I think I'm ready to say that I don't want to be a member of it any more. I hope it doesn't come to that, because this really was a wounderful community until you two arrived. Of coarse there were lows, like any debate. But with you, its constant.

I can say that I am guilty of perhaps not showing a non-violent approach to countering your insults. But you can't expect to get all flowery remarks from people when you constantly insult and belittle people.

That's all I have to say about the issue, and if any moderator is a responsible leader, he or she would take it upon themselves to uphold decency and make this forum a woulderful community to engage in intellectual debate once again.

In the case of Lucidthots, your calling to ban him was purely politically motivated. That is why I didn't want him banned. But this is a case of people constantly flaming other people just for a small peice of mind that you insulted your political opposition. In their minds, that's "winning".

But Lucidthots, although really doesn't add much to the intellectual discourse, he's not really constantly hijacking it with mindless insults and profanity. Usually his firsts posts are sane enough to disprove his retarded assertions. Its really only after people sling mud at him will he sling mud back. Its really basic physics, for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. If you're going to throw insults at him, he's going to insult back.
