What, in Sam Hill, does Chavez have to do with ending the war in Iraq? I'll answer it for you: ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

That's why I call her an attention whore. She's off base, and her STUPID behavior is calling attention away from a legitimate cause. She has become an embarassment to the anti-war movement.
If I'm not mistaken, she spoke at both events. And even if she didn't, her objective was to spread her message. A message that's been apart of her activism all along.

The most I'll give you is that she's not good at PR...because obviously not too many right wingers or centerists will take her seriously just in spite of speaking at the same event that Chavez spoke at. As we can see evidence of this with you two. But anyway, I don't think there's really anything wrong with Chavez...he's been typecasat as an evil dictator even though he was democratically elected...and when I ask people to provide evidence that his intentions are for "evil" or power, they either fail to produce some or only bring up unproven allegations.

I never equated. I compared. But then I again I knew you were going to split hairs on that point. My point still stands; the example of Gandhi was valid in the case I was making simply because both are activists.

Oh yeah. Gotcha! Cindy was working the "anti-war crowd" with Hugo Chavez! She was in Caracas, Venezuela - obviously known as the "hot-spot" for American anti-war protestors!

I can respect the fact that you're an anti-war demonstrator. Not a problem. But do you realize that most of you folks look like dumbasses? It's stuff like this that makes you a laughing-stock, or causes people to just ignore you.

What have I done that made me look like a dumbass? I'm a "dumbass" for having an opinion and being involved in citizen participation (which is necessary in a democracy)? No, I think its just our opinion on the war you disagree with, and because you hold high intolerance for people of other political affiliations, in your mind, you hold yourself to be of a higher moral or intelligence level then others; even if such bigotry is unwarranted.

Careful Jefferson... Cindy has got Kat by his heartstrings.

READ.

Try it. You might like it.

Cindy Sheehan looks like a dumbass because she acts like a dumbass. She goes down and chums around with Hugo Chavez in Venezuela - and claims it's drawing attention to the anti-war movement. That is STUPID.

And you've been at some of the protest with her? Wow! You're a KID. Do you even know what you're protesting, or what you're protesting about? As I've asked before, have you ever even had a full-time job and paid taxes? So you're a kid who's running around yelling. WhooptieDoo! Just because you have an opinion doesn't mean that I need to take it seriously or agree with it.

And lastly, let's not make believe that most of the anti-war protests are much more than drinking binges and/or idiotically insulting to soldiers who have been in Iraq. Anti-War Protests Target Wounded at Army Hospital -- 08/25/2005

Grow up a little bit. Teach your anti-war buddies to be smart and civil. Maybe then you'll be taken seriously.

Just because I'm young doesn't mean my political opinions aren't any more valid than yours. As an American citizen, my vote counts just as much as someone older than me. And I do know what I'm protesting about. I'm not just following the crowd, believe me; I'm far from the "crowd" around here, in a predominantly conservative suburb.

Its interesting to see how you would know the demographics of the anti-war movement...considering you're isolated from them and wouldn't know anything about them further than what you read on the news or in your favorite conservative blogs.

I've attended the protest in Crawford last summer, and I've attended the march in Washington some time after that. From what I saw, the anti-war movement was made up of every age or background group you could possibly think of. However, one thing that struck me at Crawford was that a very large chunk of the people there were predominantly middle-aged or baby boomer. A lot of them were from the anti-Vietnam war movement. The only group there that was made predominantly of young people were actually the Iraq War Veterans for Peace.

This nothing like the Vietnam protests, which were mostly college students.

At the Washington march I saw people anywhere from disgruntled conservatives to socialists and anarchists.

As for the protest in front of the hospital that you give as example: I can't speak for them as I didn't protest there and probably wouldn't have. But one thing I can say for certain, a conservative biased news source certainly wouldn't and shouldn't speak on behalf of anti-war protestors. It would be interesting what an unbiased source would have to say about the subject.

But I remember that a large group from camp casey went into Waco to protest in front of the VA Hospital there. And I attended. BUT, we weren't protesting against the war, we were protesting the closing of that hospital. It turns out that the government spent millions revamping that hospital and were then going to close it down to save an extra buck; a hospital which thousands of veterans depended on in the region. We protested against its closing...and recieved a lot of support even in the heartland of Texas.

That's the only protest I recall being around a VA hospital.

She is a sick woman. She has Bush derangement syndrome. It's a common disease these days.

Yeah, everyone who disagrees with you guys are bigots, nazis, racists, or war mongers. We've heard all the names you call people who disagree with you. People who put their country first when fighting an enemy and not rights for the enemy. People who believe in fighting a war to win instead of cutting and running when a war gets tough going. People who don't put their finger in the air to see which way the political wind is blowing but have integrity and the courage to sacrifice their lives for those who turn a deaf ear to justice but a bleeding heart to propaganda. We know exactly what you are like and why you are like you are. It's because you neve never had any responsibility other than showing up on time and occupying a chair in the liberal indoctrination centers. Big fricking deal. That does mean you know anything. Show me.

Speaking of Cindy Sheehan, her and her ilk (like Jane Fonda and Ramsey Clark) plan to gather March 17 at the Vietnam Memorial Wall to begin a march to protest America's involvement in the Iraq war. The date marks the fourth anniversary of the war's beginning.

This time, however, protestors will see objectors if they spit on Iraqi veterans again, or throw paint on a war memorial. This time, they will encounter a buzz saw of Vietnam veterans and supporters who will gather to protect the Wall, and show their support for U.S. troops. The counter-protestors are calling themselves the Gathering of Eagles.

The veterans are angry that the Wall is being used as a jumping off point for a political protest and they are gathering to protect it from another storm of anti-war activists.
