What is so Great about America Anyway?
Before I begin, don't get me wrong, anyone ho knows me will tell you that I am as patriotic as the come. No one loves this country more than me, so don't give me any shit...

Now, my question is this. What the hell is so great about the U.S., or England, or Canada, or Iraq or Japan, or Brazil, or any nation? What is it that prevents us from progressing into one society. We are all on this planet together, we could do truly great things if we'd work together.

Don't get me wrong, I know it'll never happen, but a fella can dream right? I mean honestly, the world could ONLY be better if we'd put our differences aside and try to work together. This is actually something I learned in the Navy. A ship is a beautiful thing, 365 people, all from different races, backgrounds and creeds, working together towards the common good. When we are at sea the ship might as well be the whole world, and we get along because divided we fall.

Look at the greatness the U.S. has achieved. Imagine what we could do as one global people...

The forst step to this is ditching religion, the next step is ditching borders. Local governments are still needed, but so is a global one. Think about it. Wouldn't it be grand?

Well said tadpole. I think this topic should be named, "We are all on this planet together", not "What is so Great about America Anyway?" Just my opinion.

I would have to side with the Miss America contestants and express one of my dreams being, "World Peace". Can't have this when dictators want more power though. hmmm...Maybe I can come up with my own quote.

When there's someone who wants or has more power than someone else, there is no peace.

Good quote.

I named the thread what I did to attract more people. I figured the controversial nature of the name would draw people's attention, especially when they saw that it was started by yours truly...

Marketing my friend, it's all about marketing.

Now for my own quote...

You are a rumpswab!

Do you think there is any chance at all? I don't honestly think there is, but we can dream.

Not for a long time...like Star Wars time.

I always thought it was funny how they made such an advanced galaxy be "a long time ago." The fact that planet systems are like countries in the movie is very progressive.

It will never happen in our lifetimes, maybe our great great grandchildren will be able to live in a world like that, if it doesn't end before it can be achieved.
