Tased while cuffed is questionable. They had enough man power to carry him out at that point.

There is little doubt that the world in general is more liberal than it was 50 years ago and beyond. Conservatives are simply roadblocks on the path to an ever more progressive and liberal world. What a sad existence.

Where are you seeing that they tasered him after he was handcuffed?

I must have missed something...

They were saying "get up, get up" by the doorway. He was sitting cuffed at that point.

I thought he was laying there, refusing to get up.

It looks like the officers are trying to pick him up and he is refusing to stand up...

If the kid cooperated with the officers, there would have been no trouble...

1. He shouldn't have been in the college library - late at night - without his student ID.
2. When asked to produce the ID or leave, he should have left.

This would have been the end of the story.

Just look at arrests at a civil disobedience protests. When people refuse to stand up, then the officers just pick them up and take them away. They don't taser them...and they certainly don't keep tasering them. The officers were trying to punish him, or torture him.

Too bad. He should have left when ASKED to by the police the first time. No excuse. If he leaves the first time asked, no problem. He got just what he intended, he just had not planned on getting tasered.

There's no excuse for his behavior, agreed, but I think the point being made would be that there's no excuse for the officer's behavior either. If the officers have to carry him out, then so be it. But punishment isn't their job, nor is torture. I don't care if you think he "deserved" it. If he "deserves" anything then that would be laid out before him in a court of law, as would any "punishment". This is why we have a court system. If you want the police to hand out punishment on the spot without any chance to due process or argue your case, then you can go to China, or North Korea.

I don't care if the kid was yelling "Allah akbar" or "death to America"; an officer's job (especially campus security) isn't to deliver vigilante justice, or 'punishment' in any kind. They have a word for that my friend, it's tyranny.

There were three to four campus cops there.
One individual. Already handcuffed. Offering what looks like passive resistance.

The whole "he wouldn't have gotten tasered if he had walked out" line of response is missing the point. Where is the line drawn?
Could they have shot him with a handgun since he wasn't walking out? No? Okay.

What should be the boundaries for tasering. There was no threat to the campus cops here. They weren't being attacked. The use of the taser was only a response to the guy not walking out with the police. That's it.
The guy should have walked out, but what's the proper response for the police for somebody who is only offering passive resistance?

The stun gun isn't it. They could have taken him out on their own. The stun gun was satisfying for some on a visceral level, but geez these things ARE NOT TOYS. They can KILL people.
