First of all being a cop for several years if he would have followed directions to began with no force would have been used. And an officer always has the right to be the aggressor in any situation an dit seems rather convenient thaat someone just so happened to have a comera handy to film it all.
Makes me wonder.

A police state is a state with authority which uses the police, especially secret police, to maintain and enforce political power, even through violent or arbitrary means if necessary. A police state typically exhibits elements of totalitarianism or other harsh means of social control. In a police state the police are not subject to the rule of law in an emergency and there is no meaningful distinction between the law and the exercise of political power by the executive.

::The Nazi Police State::

"Why of course the people don't want war ... But after all it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship ... Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger." ~ Hermann Goering, Nazi leader, at the Nuremberg Trials after World War II

The last two are obvious.
The first one should be obvious to you as well. I will try to find the link which proves it, but quite frankly it's a wasted effort considering the situation. It will gain me nothing, as you will refuse to admit the situation even when proven.

Here's a thought.
YOU claim: "more are moving out than in".
How about YOU prove one of YOUR claims for a change, instead of incessantly demanding that I prove mine and then doing absolutely nothing to admit the situation when I do prove it...

It's funny how that isn't really in dispute, but people keep bringing it up.

It's kind of like "If my wife hadn't cheated on me, I wouldn't have beat her" philosophy.
There is an issue of justifiable police use of force here that should be addressed.

Makes me wonder.
It happened in a library. Dozens of college kids. "Film" students probably as well.
The "handy camera" shouldn't surprise anybody.

And as for "an officer always has the right to be the aggressor in any situation"???
I'm thinking you just proved you're not a police-man, but rather just a poser.
Law enforcement officers are authorized
to use force in specified circumstances,
are trained in the use of force, and typically
face numerous circumstances during their
careers when use of force is appropriate—for
example, in making some arrests, restraining
unruly combatants, or controlling a disruptive
demonstration. When the level of
force exceeds the level considered justifiable
under the circumstances, however, the activities
of the police come under public scrutiny.
Incidents involving the use of excessive force
by the police frequently receive attention
from the media, legislators, and, in some
instances, civil and even criminal courts.
Whether the excessive force is aberrant
behavior of individual officers or is a pattern
and practice of an entire law enforcement
agency, both the law and public opinion
condemn such incidents.

I'm curious if charges are still being held against the guy. Or were they dropped?

And it's for the courts to decide what he "deserves". If a cop is acting on the idea of somebody "deserving" something, he is already acting outside the law.
