Do we really need to list all the people who have used warantless wiretaps??? First you would have to start with good old LBJ who actually bugged Senator Goldwater's home, office and plane. Then of course we all remember Tricky Dick, Richard Nixon.

Time and again this debate has gotten us nowhere. The Constitution is not a suicide pact. During times of war, the President's powers have always expanded as Commander in Chief, and this time is no exception. FDR, Truman, Kennedy, and even Johnson were granted far more powers during this nations time of war in the need for national security. Like it or not, the current President is no different. Get over it.

Conservatism, I repeat is not an ideology. It does not breed fanatics....But if you want men who seek, reasonably and prudently, to reconcile the best in wisdom of our ancestors with the change which is essential to a vigorous civil social existence, then you will do well to turn to conservative principles
