The key word there is COULD. Syria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Iran are muslim states, but states nonetheless, who have the same common sense (well, I won't say the exact same) as other nations. An immense, hostile war to change the world, as illustrated by the Nazis, is not good military or political sense.

They won't do that, nor do they have to do that. Their huge immigrant populations all throughout Europe are reproducing at a much greater rate than the original Europeans, who aren't reproducing at anything like replacement rate. They will, and are, using the democratic principles of those nations like France, Sweden, the UK, against them. They are preaching hatred and revolt right there in England in Mosques. They have done the same thing to a once Christian country, the only one in the ME, and that's Lebanon. Once they have the votes, they will merely take over.

You ought to get Baat Ye'or's Eurabia, and read it carefully. And while you are at it, try America Alone, by Mark Steyn, imminently readable, and indeed witty.

You realize just how much you sound like those nativists in the late 19th century who were so worked up about Eastern European immigrants coming to ruin the moral fabric of the country when they were just here to make a life for themselves?

I feel like I'm trying to disprove the Zionist World Conspiracy, and I know that your argument is so ludicrous that it's so similar, so I'll just cut to the chase and leave you with this. People leave areas like Palestine, Iran, and Syria for two reasons: to avoid the stranglehold of omnipotent governments or to practice more moderate views of their religion. As with any case of immigration, it's like an assembly line. Only about one out of a few thousand products are defective, and those are found rather quickly, either being returned to the sender or placed where it can never be any trouble.

I'm still laughing at the idea of a massive muslim conspiracy. If you wanna act like one religion is out to change the world, criticize scientology. That's something I can get in on.

The massive conspiracy you think doesn't exist began with Mohammed, and continues down through centuries. Since muslims cannot question Mohammed, cannot disagree or challenge, they are bound by a duty to have Sharia law over all the earth, which, according to the Koran, belongs to Allah.

I'll do that. When I'm praying to Mecca I'll call you right on this one. The simple idea of an entire race or religion having the malicious intent to overthrow world governments is senseless, and ony brought about by fear.

Unfortunately it would be wrong to assume that opinionmaking thorugh fear and prejudice is merely a 'western" tactic. The simple fact is that many many moderate muslims have also been convinced that the lines between "western" and "muslim" are clearly defined AND that the christian world is involved in a conspiracy to wipe out all muslims.

SO suddenly you have two fronts who are BOTH CONVINCED that the other side wishes their complete destruction. The game is now Zero-Sum.

There is undoubtedly a LOT of mind-making to be done in the "muslim" world, but the FACT remains that as long as both sides assume that peace can only come with the destruction and/or subjugation of the other, peace is jsut not possible.

ALL HUMANS WANT PEACE AND HARMONY> But as long as you assume that some people due to their culture, ethnicity or religion wish ONLY WAR.. then you are making a mistake.

It is only a FEW that believe change can come through conflict... Unfortunately those people have a disproportionate amount of influence on common opinion. However it does not change the fact that the BASIC STATE of ANY human REGARDLESS of race, ethnicity or religion is that of PEACE. Until that is accepted as a TRUTH, no peace can come.

All they have to do is stop killing. The West will leave them alone.

When we stop acting like they're our children, they'll leave us be.
