Who is surprised by that. That's all the terrorists want to do: kill people.

Pardon my french and my insult to animals, but, these suicide bombers are fucking animals.

Innocent Iraqi civilians are celebrating a moment of national unity and they have to ruin that moment for them.

It's a God damned national sports team win, for Christ's sake!

ANIMALS!

Hey, no problem with your french. Your french is better than somebody's spanish.

As I said, the bombers can't think of a better cause for themselves only than to kill people for no reason. I guess the US troops is going to have to search more vigorously for more bomb-making factories.

I guess this just proves my conclusion that at least some of the bombers in Iraq kill innocent civilians sole to cause instability...likely in an effort to convince the US to leave Iraq.

And, I doubt the suicide bombers in this case were Iraqis.

Anyway, I'm certainly going to be wishing that Iraq beats Saudi Arabia on Sunday in the final...and that there is no bloodshed during their hopeful celebration that day.

The bombers could be Iranians or Al-Qaeda members from other countries.

And hear hear, I would like to see Iraq win as well. As for bloodshed not happening on the celebration that day, we can only wait and hope.

Interesting. Insurgents destabilizing Iraq to make the Americans pull out...and Americans/British destabilizing Iraq for an excuse to stay and build permanent bases.

The latter has been working since 2003 and seems to continue to be working.

Why would the Bush Administration and the Republican Party commit political suicide in order to stay in Iraq to build military bases that would be just as permanent as the bases the US already has in the Persian Gulf states?

The neo-conservative philosophy isn't about Bush and the Republican Party. It's about holding strategic positions in the world to retain American dominance, as well as to be able to sustain the American consumer-society lifestyle.

But, simply put, those neo-cons would hold no power if they are voted out of office.

And, from a tactical and strategic military viewpoint, those supposed permanent Iraqi bases might be deemed unnecessary given the other bases in the region.

Surely, the US is likely to have some permanent military presence in Iraq even after the Iraq has sufficiently stabilized.

But, much like with Saudi Arabia today, that could end up being a role of support and any so-called "bases" there would end up being essentially equipment depots.
