NASCAR
During the 2004 election cycle we heard alot about the NASCAR dads, much like the Soccer Moms of the Clinton era. So how many NASCAR fans are on the boards??

Jeff Gordon rules!!!!! 71 career wins, and the only multiple winner this year so far. How about that Heindricks power.

Conservatism, I repeat is not an ideology. It does not breed fanatics....But if you want men who seek, reasonably and prudently, to reconcile the best in wisdom of our ancestors with the change which is essential to a vigorous civil social existence, then you will do well to turn to conservative principles

Very true. It has surpased the NFL and rightfully so.

This is one thing that conservatives and I share a passion for!!! I have been a Nascar fan since my mid-teens. I LOVE NASCAR!!!!

I hate that they pray before the races though. I don't think it is appropriate to pray before getting into a car and driving 200 miles per hour, mere feet apart. That is taking fate into your own hands

Boogity boogity boogity!

I think it isn't such a bad idea to say a little prayer for yourself before you start the race. Even though some people do not believe in religion, I think it calms yourself before you start up that engine.

It's kind of tough to put it in words...but after I say a prayer, I get some kind of relaxed feeling as if someone is guiding me.

Whatever works I suppose.

If they want to expand (even more) I think it would be wise to include all religions or none at all. But you know how I feel about that...

BTW- I root for earnhardt jr. & jeff gordon and there is a soft spot in my heart for a few other drivers. still upset about loosing earnhardt senior.

Everytime they flashback to Earnheart's crash, it gives me chills.

Very upsetting. I don't know how jr deals with it.

Boogity, Boogity, Boogity....Talladega this weekend. I am currently residing in Alaska, and here the races comes on at 9 AM, Sunday morning. By the time its over I'm tired.

So what do you think of the idea of a track in NYC. There are plans to purchase land on Long Island to build a speedway.

I hadn't heard about the plans to build near NYC but I think it would be GREAT for the sport.

My friend recently moved to Tennessee and he is looking into getting us tickets for the late season Talladega! I'm excited.

Boogity indeed.
