Although I detest Eli Manning, I was happy to see the Patriots lose. The Giants measured up to them extremely well, and scored when it counted.

A lot of Chargers' fans in San Diego feel the same way I do, OD. He made it public a few years ago when he said that he didn't want to play for a losing team, the Chargers. Of course, that enabled the Chargers to get Philip Rivers, Shawn Merriman, and I can't remember.

I guess maybe Manning did the Chargers a favor because it got their attention. It produced four winning seasons starting in 2004. But the winning seasons means nothing when they didn't advance in the playoffs or to the Super Bowl. The Patriots would tell you the same thing.

John Elway didn't want to play for the Colts back in the 1980's, and there were some bitter feelings.

One other thing, and this is for Deion Sanders and Jim Brown: they didn't know what they were talking about when they criticized La Danian Tomlinson for not playing in the AFC title game vs. New England.

Somehow #21's injury was more serious than both Sanders and Brown figured. If #21 had continued to play, he might have been harming himself more. He so much wanted to continue to play, but his health came first.
