They had faith in there QB at the time (forget who that was). No one really knows though.
Drew Brees was the QB at that time. Rivers sat down nearly during the entire season of 2005 and 2006, learning the basics. Most QB's have to do that. John Elway did for a season. And he became among the greatest QB's ever to play, even though he often beat the Chargers.

Rivers became a regular in 2006, guiding the Chargers to a 14-2. But the success of the regular season means nothing when a team can't win in the playoffs. That's what led to Schottenheimer's departure from the team.

A QB has to learn to grow up on the sidelines. That's something that Ryan Leaf (#16) never did. He was a complete bust for the Chargers. He was so full of himself.

Hello, people! I was kind of busy yesterday; and didn't get a chance to jump in. Divional title picks: AFC: Pats (sorry, H80: by 4. NFC: Pack by 7. I'll be home for the Super Bowl; so I'll talk with everyone later about that.

Pats by 4? Can be more than that, I think. I don't think it will be that close, but then who gave the Chargers a chance vs. Indy?

It supposed to be 25 degrees in Foxboro, and 6 degrees in Green Bay, according to weather.com.

I am certainly disappointed, Gary. But NOT inconsolable!

I love my coach. He is a gracious man, honest, has integrity and is calm and deliberate. He is a man to be admired.

I do NOT like the coach for the Giants, but I dare say I felt so sorry for Tyne when he missed the first two field goals . I could not stand to see how terrible his coach reacted. So I was happy for Tyne to make a comeback. And I do think Eli is a sweetie.

But yes, I wanted MY TEAM to win! We will...next year!

And for the record, I like Grace. And am happy for her to be able to celebrate the Giant Victory. I sincerely will be cheering them on in the Superbowl. And even though MY TEAM will not be playing this time, I am having a Superbowl party.

Thanks OD, I thought I was going to have a heart attack. What a tremendous game, back and forth. Thats gotta go down as one of the greats. I'd also like to say the GB organization has been nothing but class. Man what a game.

Dont be mad at Coughlin for rippin Tynes. Thats how we roll.

Since you have chosen to root for the Giants on Superbowl Sunday; therefore, rooting against a monumental achievement to occur in football history, I shall not feel sorry for you in the least that the Packers lost!

GO GIANTS. I'm not cheering against the monumental achievement, just against The Patriots.

Kind of like, I would like to see a woman president...Just not Hillary. See what I mean?

What I see is that you are a traitor to your country and a cry baby for not accepting the Patriots as the best NFL team right now. You also must accept that I am right, denounce your loyalty to the Giants, and get on your hands and knees before me and beg for forgiveness!!!!
