There is little doubt that the world in general is more liberal than it was 50 years ago and beyond. Conservatives are simply roadblocks on the path to an ever more progressive and liberal world. What a sad existence.

Well it is 0330, or 3:30 in the morning, and I am still at work. I get off in two and a half hours, and then five hours later the game between the Steelers and the Broncos will begin. So much for me getting much rest. I have to be back at work Sunday night at Six.

After a wild and crazy game last weekend, I am not sure I can take another one this weekend. After dominating what everyone thought to be the best team in the NFL for 55 minutes, we almost lost. Despite a bad call and a Jerome Bettis fumble, somehow we still pulled it off. Thank god for Vanderjadt

Well the Steelers have a new play to add to our strange occurrence. In 1972 we had the Miraculous Reception(Franco Harris catching the ball) in beating the Raiders, in 1995 we had the Miraculous Deflection (Steeler cornerback batting down the ball in endzone) in beating the Chargers, and now in 2005 we had the Divine Intervention (Roethlisberger's tackle) in beating the Colts. All that is left is to beat the Broncos. Now it is time for me to just hurry up and wait.

Conservatism, I repeat is not an ideology. It does not breed fanatics....But if you want men who seek, reasonably and prudently, to reconcile the best in wisdom of our ancestors with the change which is essential to a vigorous civil social existence, then you will do well to turn to conservative principles

I got a feelin'
Pittsburgh's going to the Super Bowl. Making the playoffs as a number 6 seed, the Pittsburgh Steelers faced an uphill battle to even think of making it to the Super Bowl, I for one, didn't even bother to take the day off from work.

Well something strange happened on the way to the forum. Enroute to their sixth Super Bowl appearance, the Steelers beat the number 1, 2 and 3 seeds in the AFC to become its representative in the Super Bowl.

The Steelers become the first number 6 seed to advance to the Super Bowl, and matched the feat of the 1985 Patriots in winning 3 road playoff games.

As I watched the game today, the most fitting moment occurred as the final seconds were winding off the clock. Jerome Bettis was looking into the stands and to his parents and was saying "We're going home!!!" There is much speculation that this will be the final year for the sure to be Hall of Famer. What a fitting way to end a storied career, with the storied Pittsburgh Steeler franchise, a return to where is football playing days began, in Detroit.

Super Bowl XL
My internet company sold 132 red robes to the halftime show producer for the Super bowl! Apparently Aretha Franklin will have a choir behind her during halftime... those robes will have been sold by yours truly.

If you plan on watching this Sunday lift your beer, or whatever beverage you have in your hand, and give me a "cheers" when you see them. Because no matter who wins the game, I already won!

Super Bowl XL
Being originally from Pennsylvania, I'll be routing for the Steelers. Will anyone else out there be watching the game live Monday morning? I'll be watching from 0100hr to 0530!

Re: Super Bowl XL
Well, the gowns were only on during the national anthem.

How rude that I wasn't informed of the change of plans by the producer

Did anyone see them? BANK BABY!

I know I am biased since I was watching the game in Seattle... but it really feels like the better team lost.

The difference between a good team and a great team is that the great team finds a way to win even when they probably shouldn't. Seattle had a good team, their offense was able to move up and down the field, but they couldn't overcome the mistakes they made. The Steelers defense found a way to hold them to long field goal attempts in which 2 of 3 were missed.

Although the Steelers offense struggled, especially Big Ben, he still found a way to make plays, 3rd and 28 and he scrambles and completes a pass for 37 yards. Gadget plays, and a great break out long run by Fast Willie Parker.

Sure. And when a team gets called for clipping while making a tackle that is just good, hard knocks football.
