I think the announcers said he was around 270 pounds. My God; what are they feeding kids these days? How can he be that large weight-wise when a lot of basketball practice is endurance training by running?

Compared to Shaq, Oden looks to be in better shape. But you raised a good point. Take a look at some of the college football linemen. Some of them weigh over 300 pounds.

I'm not so sure about Oden...I felt like the announcers simply wouldn't stop talking about him. He did have a lot of points and rebounds, but then again, he didn't take a single break and he spent the entire game parked under one basket or another. And considering that every one of his shots was a dunk or a layup, I didn't think his shooting percentage was that great either.

He's only a freshmen, yes? He has a long way to go. If he stays in school through his senior year, he'll get better. And believe me, I wish all kids in college would stay until they graduate. There's a lot more to learning than being on a football field or on a basketball court.

There pitching staff doesn't impress me even with Gill Meche or as I like to call him God, they have a solid line up but there is no depth on that team. Once one guy gets hurt the entire team starts playing like little leaguers.

Isn't that want you would want a 7 footer to do if you were a basketball coach? I wouldn't want him to be taking 15 to 20 foot jumpshots-that what the guards are for.
