It seems like this hasn't gathered much force in the media... I fear it is because the affected aren't white.

The loss of life is is a sad affair. When the loss of life involves innocents it is a tragic.
Alot of the lack of media coverage stems from the tribal leaders dictating what can and cannot be filmed. They are barring reporters from going off main roads on the reservation, they cannot go and interview people at their homes, things like that.I have even heard that they confiscated film from reporters and cameramen that only showed a makeshift memorial that had started.
I guess freedom of the press does not cross borders of the reservations.

They showed parts of it on the news, shooting people blowing up a car with a grenade.

To me, perscription meds are worse than any gun-related crime. Of course, pyschiatrists will refer a patient to a physician so they can make a few bucks and move up the latter! I don't have the exact statistics but the suicide rate shot up along with the further distribution of perscription meds.

They throw those things out like it's food, it's ridiculous!

As for guns--
It's easy to be for/against something from the comfort of your home. I can understand where some people are coming from in using a gun against another person, which is usually as a means of self-defense. But there are some morons out there who think the world and the creatures that exist in this world is/are their's to shoot up.

I think ammunition should be harder to purchase; a person trying to buy ammunition should have some sort of proof with them that says they've spent time using guns and understand that it's a tool that should only be utilized in certain situations.

Moderate controls
Moderate controls are acceptable I guess...but when the government keeps law abiding citizens from defending themselves it is dangerous. I don't care what anyone says, In countries with full gun control, people still get murdered regardless. Besides this many forget the sole principle behind the 2nd amendment... Citizens need arms inorder to protect against tyranny. And if you are one of those morons who feels a dictatorship cannot be formed through democratic processes, I will tell you you are flat out wrong.. Just look at what Hitler did.

and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protestor to burn the flag.
