Wow that's very interesting! I've been thinking about going back into martial arts so i'll be sure to check out Jeet Kun Do.

I took Tae Kwon Do for a year when I was around 12 years old. My instructor was a Boston police officer with a 3rd degree blackbelt. One good technique he had was he would make us fight him before our tournaments the next day. Yea he would woop our ass, but the next day it seemed like cake facing all the other people in our class. We all did great thanks to him. I stopped taking Tae Kwon Do because I guess I just got lazy. But it's something I would definitely take again!

The only thing I didn't like was doing a split. Tae Kwon Do is mostly using your legs in combat and if you can do a split, you can surely do some cool moves while in combat.
I took Tang Soo Do & Tai Chi Chu'an throughout High School, as well as boxing. I was a Navy Golden Glove in Mississippi.
Fight the good fight, and die with the enemy's heart in your hand.

Tadpole, is there a place outside the military to learn quality hand to hand combat? For years now I have wanted to learn but never know where to go. I guess I could just go to the local asian combat arts place (karate, tai kwan do, etc) But I wanted something with an American twist.

Much appreciated.

Well when you put restrictions like this on a right it can be raised until no one can pass them.
