Why do people in other countries go to bed at night NOT worrying about this??

Why are you so quick to admit defeat in America?

It's not the American way lad - stand up and be counted!

I will have to submit that the ideal situation in America is not to have such worries. In reality we must realise that it would take some time, and some rather drastic changes, before America is as safe as that. I don't believe gun control, in it's fullest exent, is the way to battle violent crime.

It would be much easier not to read post #209 and claim you never addressed the issue at all.

What happens when the guy breaks into my house while I'm at work, and steals all the guns in my house, thereby putting more weapons in the hands of criminals? Or does everyone take their guns to work with them in the US?

Yes in P_N's state they take their guns to work. He keeps his on a gun rack in the back window of his pickup truck, partially obscured by a tattered Conferederate flag

We only take them to work during hunting season.
Right now America spends $700 billion every year on foreign oil. That's our money going overseas when it could be staying here. We have to stop this. That's why I support the Pickens Plan. Gary, what part of "liberty" do you not understand? The smoking nazi's have tweaked my last nerve, and I'm just American enough to want to start smoking again after having quit 34 years ago!!! I WILL not stay at a hotel that doesn't accommodate smokers. It's just assinine to call that a good thing! What freedoms do we have anymore besides being surveilled by camera even while driving our cars!

When Clinton, the democrat was elected, lots of people thought "whoopeee, now we can get someone to pay attention to these stupid drug laws, and relax them" but no, indeed, immediately we are told now SMOKING CIGARETTES is going to be off limits! This is the leftists idea of liberty? If a restaurant cannot make a decision on their own about such things, we have truly slipped further and further into the oblivion of totalitarianism!

Oh, and just because the rest of the world doesn't buy the facts about gun control doesn't mean anything to me. They don't have a Constitution with a Second Amendment. We don't get our rights from men in power over us....here we get our rights from our creator, whoever any lunatic may thing that could be.

We have the freedom to stay in hotels and eat in restaurants that don't stink of stale carcinogens!

They could if they chose to, but there's a good reason why they don't

So you think God granted the US a special right to carry guns just so they could kill each other on college campuses 33 at a time???

Last time I checked the US Constitution was written by a bunch of British ex-pat slave-owners

There is a reason why every other industrialised nation saw what was happening in the US and took steps to ensure it won't happen in their countries
