To my mind, if a crime doesn't carry the death penalty by the courts; Why should it carry the death penalty by Bubba.

Massachusetts has a large immigrant community some of it illegal. Why mention them with crime? I disagree that shooting at somebody is tantamount to the death penalty. If Bubba keeps getting victimized he will get angry. Crime may or may not be on the rise, but there seems to be more of it or more of certain kinds of it. If the police cannot correct the problem the citizenry has every right to.

I used to be against these laws, but I lived in a tough neighborhood where people looked out for each other. There was a certain amount of street justice. The neighborhood was relatively safe.

I mention illegal immigrants because it seems that the majority of the areas that passed these laws, have a large problem with illegals. Also, I live in Arkansas. I know way too many three toothed, inbred, backwoods rednecks who would love this type of law simply to, and I quote, "keep them damn w**b**** off my property!". Too many of them are just a little too eager to shoot someone for my liking.

The citizenry protecting itself is one thing, but how does shooting a teenager who is running away extrapolate into 'protecting yourself'. Where was the threat?

At what point does 'street justice' become anarchy?
Bother not the cat. For they are sneaky and will piss on thy keyboard.

That's what seems to have happened with this guy Horn. From the 911 tape it sounds like he couldn't wait to shoot at someone. Probably he'd been dreaming about that moment for years.

Even though the police dispatcher was pleading with him to stay indoors and not shoot at anyone saying "it's not worth killing someone for property".

It's ironic that America is stomping around the world preaching peace, democracy and the rule of law whilst this kind of summary execution on American soil seems to get applause all round.

Nobody wants to have their house burgled but shooting and killing unarmed people is not the right solution.

I hope this guy is charged and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, and we'll see what happens if he gets a Rodney King cop-style free pass.

If somebody damages my property during a theft, I'd feel pretty comfortable putting a bullet in their ass. And I believe in the "you better kill em because they might come back to get you" mindset.

As an ex-Marine, I'd feel pretty comfortable there. I was looking forward to putting my training to good use.

Funny thing is, even in 1987, before the Kuwait war even, we were being trained to kill "ragheads". The military knew something was going down.

I'll rubber stamp that. If cops can kill a guy for running from a traffic stop, a homeowner should at least be able to protect their property. As the cops say, "you don't know why they are running". You have to stop them so you can identify them.

Grace I'm surprised at you.

I thought you were a Christian and pro-life?

Those two aren't doing time, which would have been the right solution.

They're both dead.

Do you think Jesus would have chased them down the street and shot them in the back ??
