Texan shoots burglars in cold blood - no charges pressed
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/chronicle/5349444.html

A Texan, Joe Horn, shot two black unarmed illegal immigrants in cold blood after he witnessed them about to rob a neighbour's house, despite the pleadings of the local police 911 operator for him not to get involved.

Should he be tried for murder or should he run for President?

So that justifies killing them in cold blood?

Even after the police dispatcher said that it's not worth taking a life just for property?

Calm down, Mary. Horn said they were coming at him in a threatening manner. Were you there?

How do you know that isn't true?
Right now America spends $700 billion every year on foreign oil. That's our money going overseas when it could be staying here. We have to stop this.

Were you there? How do you know he's telling the truth?

Listen to the tape of his conversation with the police dispatcher where he says:

"I'm going after them buddy.

You hear the shotgun clicking I'm going".

then you may be ready to start a reasoned debate on the cold blooded slaughter of these unarmed burglars

Without all the facts, there doesn't seem much to debate.

You don't know Horn was lying. I don't know he was telling the truth.

Unlike some people, my favorite exercise is not leaping to conclusions.

I would consider a man coming at me with a crowbar to be armed.

Nobody was "coming at him".

The police dispatcher pleaded with him not to leave his home and not to shoot these guys.

The police arrived just seconds after he had slaughtered them in cold blood.

We know from previous experience about your callous, uncaring attitude toward the wanton murder of defenceless victims, including the husband of that crazy woman who shot him in the back while he slept in his own bed (also in Texas - where else).

But if you bothered listening to the tape at least you wouldn't appear so appallingly misinformed.

The incident to which you refer happened in Tennessee.

The reports here are kind of misleading. In the video of the original post Quanell X says the men were shot in the back. One was shot once, the other twice. However, written reports say the men were shot once each. One in the chest and the other in the side.

Also it would seem that the individuals had already committed the burglary as the police found a bag with cash in it. This site has all the up to date stories on it.

It would seem that a grand jury is going to decide whether or not this man should be charged. Until they do, I think that it is best to hold judgement. But I can agree with many of Mr Horn's neighbors, I would not mind having him live next door to my house.

Conservatism, I repeat is not an ideology. It does not breed fanatics....But if you want men who seek, reasonably and prudently, to reconcile the best in wisdom of our ancestors with the change which is essential to a vigorous civil social existence, then you will do well to turn to conservative principles
