How come the gun nuts conveniently overlook all these examples????

It's a free trade group - not an empire headquartered in both Brussels and Strasbourg - not Rome.
The "trade agreement" is just the mask, for the real intentions. What are the "real intentions" of the EU? World domination?
If so the Chinese don't appear to be fazed so far.
They wont be for long. I dont see why you think I have any fear of the EU? | Grace if you ever lived in Europe you might well have a fear of the EU, mostly because of all the money it wastes and the unnecessary regulations it tries to impose!
You would also realise that most Europeans have a fairly cynical view of the EU outside of the obvious trading and economic advantages.

Saddam wasnt restricted in how he could deal with the people, and he ruled with a iron fist, litteraly killing millions of his people. Plus they have had UN sanctions were people didnt even have medical supplies. |

The point is this - whether a nation's population is armed or not is irrelevant to whether they can be subjugated by a vicious dictator backed by an army and unlimited other resources.

How many Americans want to oppose the Federal Republic in favour of having 50 standalone nation/states with different currencies, trade regulations etc?

When the leader is willing to go to such lengths. Could you picture a developed country getting away with what he did? |
