yea, you also mentioned you considered or are considering joining the army im not sure which of the it was but maybe it was the latter of them. would you be interested in being part of the Naval Judge Adjutant General?? or just civilian law??
I am most likely definately getting out of the Navy. The two options I am most strongly considering is pursuing a comission in the Army or practiciing Civilian law...

What kind of Army commision would you want, into which branch?? Would you do USMA, ROTC or OCS??

I would be doing OCS as I am currently completeing my degree. I have considered several options, including Helo pilot (7th of the 9th Air Cavalry for me!), Intel, SpecOps or even Infantry (Airborne Ranger of Course)

i agree with tadpole256 that it is definately not the answer, i think more extensive training is necessary to own a weapon but there is no guarentee that a felon won't come in contact with a weapon. i read the local newspaper where i live all the time and all you read about is gun shots and killings. most of the time it was because parents don't lock they're weapons up and kids are curious. owning a gun or rifle is a big responsibility , i agree to feel safe but be careful. i'm fortunate i live in the country and don't need any weapons!!

I think one of the worse things people with kids and guns do is hide the guns from the kids. If you hide something, kids want it more. Kids should learn the importance of gun safety and responsibility just like they should learn sexual responsibility.

Good reason for safety!
I have a friend who is a drill instructor in the Marines. In one conversation; I remember him saying that safety is second only to accuracy when handling weapons. The saying he used was "You don't ever point a gun a something or someone you don't intend to shoot."
With this attitude; he didn't believe in "accidents." If and when someone is wounded by gunfire;it was because somebody meant to pull a trigger on a gun and fire the weapon. Personally; I agree with my friend!
