Oh wow, that kicks ass. Good on your dad.

What do you think the difference is that allows Italy to have such a low crime rate vs. the U.S.? How long have you lived in Italy?
i dont know, maybe their culture is calmer than ours. alot the people that came to the US during the colonial era were criminals that got dropped off in Georgia, so maybe that is why. i have lived here 8 years. you have seen the way italians play soccer everytime they fall instead of gettin back up they cry. thats the way they are, plus italy is very much into peace and against violence so i guess that could be why. but naples is the highest crime place in italy. mainly because of the neapolitan mafia. naples is also shithole, its the closest you will ever get to the ghetto here in italy.

amfliberal : Where does this false sense of protection come from? Where is the boogy man that scares us all into thinking we need firearms to protect our children?

Haha well first of all, a false sense of protection is what you have : The false ideal that the police have an obligation to protect you and the false belief that even if they have the opportunity to protect you, that they will put themselves in harms way to do so. If you believe that you should read up on incidents like columbine and VT where the cops sat around and listened to people die while they cowered behind their body armor. And this "boogeyman" is in every ghetto and trailor park in America, the boogieman is the spirit of everyone who would rather take from you what you have earned rather than go out and get it themselves. Liberals seem to make the mistake of thinking that everyone in the world is as much of a pussy as they are. Do you think that you progressive ideoligies are going to tug on a rapists heart strings? Do you think that a armed robber cares about your compassion for his circumstances. Liberalism is a fantastical ideology brought upon by the lack of a reality check(being vicimized) while a gun is an anchor that can hold you down to earth/reality.

Wow you are really terrified of that bogeyman!

If life in America, the Land of the Free, is really so fraught with danger at every turn maybe you should move somewhere less threatening - like Fallujah?

Garysher... I don't need to be terrified of the boogeyman, because I have a gun,and if I didn;t have that I would still have a knife, and if I didnt have that I'd still have a hammer, and if I didn't have that I would still have my bare hands and my will to survive. How about I just stay in America and fight to make it a better place? Maybe I should stand up for my rights, and not back down because it is harder than turning and running away. How is it that running away like a coward is the first thing that comes to mind for you? What makes you feel so safe, what makes you think that you are just entitled to freedom and life? What makes you think that you will never have to fight for anything or stand up for your rights? Just because it it the land of the free doesn't mean that you don't have to stand up and defend those freedoms sometimes. But I guess in Europe running away is an acceptable alternative to having balls.

Hahahha touche. I wouldn't really call it running away so much as admitting our initial error of getting involved in those conflicts. I honestly don't think we should have become intangled in foreign affairs such as those in the first place. what I was actually refering to was standing up for what is right in our own country, community, or neighborhood as opposed to running away to safer ground. I honestly don't think we can win conventional wars against the peoples of the third world due to our decadent lifestyles and the fact that we don't have the desire to fight that they do. We have had our freedoms over here for so long that we no longer appreciate them and we no logner feel that we will ever have to fight for them again(much like yourselves) which is a bit of a pompous ideal if you ask me.

P.S. The last time I checked your country had followed our country into a ridiculous war so that OUR corporations could make billions of dollars.

P.P.S. Oh yeah..... you remember that time you and france picked a fight with Germany and got your asses handed to you? Yeah we do to, and if it hadn't been for our beer drinkin' hillbilly asses the whole world would have descended into fascism, and you wouldn't have the right to be the pussy that you are today.

I see your knowledge of history is as muddled and confused as your sense of values!

How sad that you haven't exercised your right NOT to be ignorant.

Haha once again, feel free to cite any fallacies in my perceptions of history. Did Germany not kick your asses? Did us and the Soviets not have to come save you from the war that you started? Did your country not follow ours into a ridiculous frivolous war like a neutered lap dog following his master?

And pardon me if I value my right to live more than someone else's right to take my life away.

Cry and whine all you want. My right to bear arms is safe and sound, and you are still just a whiney pussy from an irrelevant country that has been nothing but a joke for the last 200 years.

Nope. Britain prevailed against Germany in WW1 and WW2.

Did us and the Soviets not have to come save you from the war that you started?

The US finally got involved after Germany declared war on them and U boats started firing missiles at targets along the eastern seaboard

Hitler invaded Russia but failed to defeat the Russians, just like Napoleon failed.

Britain was never involved in Vietnam.

And pardon me if I value my right to live more than someone else's right to take my life away.

Did you get that off the back of a cornflake box?

You dim bugger.

200 years ago the British Empire spanned one third of the world's population.

Did you get your history "lernin" from the good ole boys down at the NRA meetings??
