Let someone die in your house.
With the money we waste on War, Killing, Bombs, not to mention all the luxury items the U.S. should have Universal Health Insurance. Anybody who is against Universal Health Insurance should be required to let a sick person without Health Insurance die in their home. I am not suggesting that these people help anybody, just let the sick person die in your home, hell if you have a yard just put them in the yard. I would pay extra taxes to have sick people bussed to theses people who are against Universal Health Insurance and we could pick up the dead on the same bus trip. Now the problem of high health care costs is solved. Let the sick people drive the busses, who cares if they are qualified, if they wreck and some die so what, who cares. We don't care now, see nothing changes.

I'm with you on this Billy. it as absolutely ridiculous that trillions of dollars can be set aside for armed engagements (based on fictitious intel) in order to kill others and in the process lose some of your own.

Yet the very same who will approve lunatic budgets for lunatic acts, will refuse to spend public money on the health and wellbeing of their citizens.

The priority it seems is given to killing and destruction (in order to "protect" the US of course) as opposed to saving lives of US citizens.

Of course i aint American so i really don't give a hoot what condition your medical system is in. i CAN telly ou however that i have free healthcare as a danish citizen. as do my parents. When i busted my leg i was given free treatment. My mom was treated for cancer and my dad had a quintuple bypass. Both of the latter procedures we would NOT have been able to afford at the time.

Free healthcare is NOT a reason to become lazy. It is NOT a reason to "exploit" the system ( how do you do that other than by being sick?). It is NOT a killer of initiative ( the opposite in fact because people will be more willing to take risks if their healthcare and education isn't a part of the equation. )

Universal Healthcare is a boon for the entire population. It hurts some of te richer people cuz they'll have to pay more taxes. So what? higher taxes will not keep them from earning more money and it will not bankrupt them. It will chagne very little in their lives ( apart from the added taxes... they'll still have the house, pool and 5 cars).

and in the end if average Joe is happy.. then EVERYBODY is happy.
Love for all, Hatred for none

Typical liberal horse shit. Trying to make the world a better place with half-witted ideas. Universal health care? It's a joke. Affordable health care, now that is no joke. You socialist will never stop 'til everyone is holding hands singing and smoking the bong. Get a life.

Why should it be free? So everyone can milk our health care system and our economy dry? Why not already declare ourself a 2nd world country before we do that. I agree that we have problems with our health care system, but this ridiculous notion that it should be free is just that ridiculous. All that is going to happen is the taxes will continue to go up and no one is going to give a shit about health care, they're going to care about having a place to stay at night.

I think healthcare should be free "at the point of access" and you pay reimbursement according to your ability to pay. That is roughly the system they have in Australia.

It's a myth to believe that Universal healthcare = higher taxes

We are all paying hidden taxes for healthcare right now

Health insurance adds $1000 to the average Ford or GM car. Every month part of your car payment goes to health insurance

Ditto for almost every time you reach into your pocket to buy something, including Starbucks, the supermarket, gasoline, your mortgage, etc etc

It's also ridiculous to pretend that the US cannot afford universal healthcare when every other western economy can, not to mention a few less developed economies like Cuba, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait

It is rare that I agree with Gary, but this time he is right. There is no excuse for the US not to have such a system.
