Actually, individual people can be successful, in a financial sense, if they want to be.

But, no matter how hard each individual within a population tries to be successful, there will always be a statistical spread of low income earners, middle income earners, and high income earners.

In essence, there are only so many jobs to go around whereby people make enough to afford their healthcare...at least as healthcare is handled today in the US.

And, if you ask me, the US needs a system whereby every US citizen has access to affordable healthcare no matter what their income happens to be.

I was interested in what you had to say about the moon landings. Period. Should have known better. You still don't have anything to add to a debate.

That means the US has the advantage of huge economies of scale, with a working population of close to 200 million paying in, instead of Denmark's relatively small population.

And we know that Americans can always do everything better then anywhere else. Surely the nation that put men on the moon can organise a health service for its people??

Yes and no. Right now I am ok.

It was a ruptured hemangioma -- which are also known as a strawberry or port wine stain birthmarks when they are on the skin. Until this happened I was unaware that one can also have them on internal organs.

It is possible that it will never give me any more trouble. It is also possible that it will rupture again -- possibly even repeatedly.

But it is not life-threatening unless I fail to get treatment if it does rupture again.
Right now America spends $700 billion every year on foreign oil. That's our money going overseas when it could be staying here. We have to stop this.

That's not what I'm talking about. And you know as well as I do that I've told you I'm GLAD I don't "know" you from listening to the people you know and all the health issues you have listed in other posts. Don't play daft.

I was talking to my wife and she had the idea that there should be a system where everyone paid a base healthcare fee. It covered all check-ups and basic health care. If you wanted catastrophic coverage, that would be extra though. We agreed that to make this work, there would also have to be tort reform and more oversight on the insurance and drug companies.
But the people that don't pay into the system get the most basic of coverage unless they have a registered disability that justifies their situation. Otherwise you are still ass out. If you don't have the required amount of insurance, there should be more available for charity care since everyone should have some insurance otherwise.

At least that way, if you want better care, you can still pay for it ans get it. Because I don't care what YOU say, I don't want the same level of care as someone who has NO insurance. And if I were a doctor, I wouldn't want my pay based on the lowest common denominator.

You have a lot more confidence in our government than I do. Our infrastructure is literally collapsing around us. Our economy is starting to show it's age. There's a LOT more wrong with this country than just the health care system. I don't want to put this under the thumb of politicians to be debated every year. What about the first year that they don't pass the appropriation bill and all the hospitals shut down with the rest of the government facilities? I'll pass on making healthcare a totally government run entity.

I'll be lookin forward to your reply.. and my full name is Hassan Kilde Bajwa.. hence HK and Bajwa. My first and last name are pakistani but my middle name comes from my maternal grandmother. Danes can't pronounce Bajwa ( the danish language pronounces "J" as "Y"..leads to some confusion) so my parents decided to make it easier for the danes..

Actually my grandad suggested the name Peter Hassan when it came to naming me.. but my parents decided not to go with that..
