Stress the body's ability to overcome the mind's urge to strangle the living hell out of somebody. It is something we all deal with on a day to day basis. Part of the problem is that we live in a fix me now society. People want medicines that alleviate the common cold, or any other ailment and the same is true with stress. However, some of the best cures for stress have nothing to do with medicine. Take a walk, do exercise, read a book (particularly one not dealing with politics), take a mini vacation. While there is no quick fix, there are fixes. It is amazing how calm you can feel after a good walk, run or work-out and it also does you body wonders with other problems, metabolism, preventing diabetes, dealing the obesity, and the list goes on.

Conservatism, I repeat is not an ideology. It does not breed fanatics....But if you want men who seek, reasonably and prudently, to reconcile the best in wisdom of our ancestors with the change which is essential to a vigorous civil social existence, then you will do well to turn to conservative principles

Don't talk like that. I'm in Iraq and don't need to get horny.

Since I have to wait till Monday to find out if the changes in my left ovary are cancerous or just 'pre' cancerous, what kind of 'dealing with it' would you suggest to fill the time?

I was blowing a bit of steam and I guess my post was a bit harsh. I SINCERELY hope you do not have cancer. My wife had a hysterectomy 14 years ago and she is better off for it. No more periods at least.

Catus, my heart goes out to you and I really want you to come out Ok with this.

Thanks PN.

It seems that everyone, including me, is getting their wish! The 'changes' in my ovary are "Not yet cancerous!" I'm waiting for my Doc's scheduling nurse to call and tell me when I will be having surgery. I'm having everything taken out. They will do more tests on the ovary when they get it out, but as it looks right now, I won't have to have chemotherapy. I get to keep my hair!

Thanks to everyone for your support, thoughts and prayers.

The cat will live to aggravate again.

That's great news cat - the best outcome you could have wished for. Do you agree?

I'm gonna be better than rain. I'm gonna be freaking fantastic. To be honest, ever since the 'A-typical cervical cancer' 11 years ago, I've had a small but constant worry that it might have 'migrated' somewhere else. This scared the crap out of me enough to get off my ass and get it fixed. I wish I had done it 11 years ago. It would have saved a boatload of problems and worries.

I'm glad you won't be having chemo, Cat. That is bad stuff.

LOL!

I can imagine that there are certain people out there of the type who are going to be very disappointed at this news. I can just see them praying for God to smite me and sitting on the edge of their seats with their fingers crossed.

How sad to crush their hopes.

Me too! I watched my father in law do chemo. It didn't make him any better, it just seemed to make his dying slower.
