So there.

Don't feel guilty just thank God that someone else is paying your bills and you don't get kicked out of the hospital because the insurance company cancelled your policy!

But Americans are still denied that right?

They sure are. Because it isn't a "right".

But why don't you feel the same way about education? Why do you want your child's schooling lumped in with everyone else? Including illegal immigrants, and the millions of kids who couldn't care less about education?

He won't be, he'll more than likely be privately schooled. Although one of the major reasons for our recent moves was to get in one of the better school systems.
So will you be refusing to accept taxpayer funded education and healthcare and paying your own way from here on??
As I have already pointed out, I already pay extra for my family's healthcare. And my medical benefits are part of my military benefits. And again as you pointed out before, those are built into my pay. Which by the way as an E-4 in the Marine Corps 15 years ago was less than $1000 a month. I think I paid for these benefits thank you. I'll take em.

Nice question paragraph by the way. How do you do that?

It sure is. She really should have paid closer attention to her application and not taken that important document so lightly.

I thank "God" that I had the sense to join the military instead of all the other options I had at the time. Because even if we had universal health care, I'd still be poor as hell. That would suck.

This circle is getting old. Why don't you start a new thread on ideas to solve the problem. I got a few.

Yep there are plenty of industrialised nations I would happily live in, and enjoy national health care.

Why are you resigned to America lagging far behind in the way it doesn't care for its people?

Yes it is a right - in all the countries I mentioned!

Rights aren't limited to the ones listed in the US constitution!

Nope - the taxpayer is paying them for you

I'm amazed how you keep on refusing to admit that and seem so heartless towards others who don't get your privileged treatment!

You still avoid the question - if she was denied coverage "up front" she would still need to raise $200k - how can a sick hairdresser do that?

I thank "God" that I had the sense to join the military instead of all the other options I had at the time. Because even if we had universal health care, I'd still be poor as hell. That would suck.

Not me. I like it here. Seems to be popular too, even without Universal Health Care.

Why are you resigned to America lagging far behind in the way it doesn't care for its people?

America DOES care for the poor, disabled and elderly. Anyone in between should be able to take care of themselves.
Yes it is a right - is all the countries I mentioned!
Rights aren't only the ones listed in the US contitution!

I never mentioned the constitution. I just said it's not a right. If the government can't keep all it's citizens under a roof and fed, I again don't want healthcare left up to the Feds.

Nope - the taxpayer is paying them for you
I'm amazed how you keep on refusing to admit that and seem so heartless towards others who don't get your privileged treatment!

I was a employee of the taxpayer, so of course they were paying EVERYTHING. And as an employee, I have benefits. I am simply using the benefits afforded any member of the military. What is there to deny?

Good luck with it though. I got a hell of a lobby. LOL.

How should that hairdresser go about raising $200k? Still no suggestions on that?

And what about the millions of others in her situation?

You seem to be playing both ends against the middle - that's a Trissie gang tactic!

You still avoid the question - if she was denied coverage "up front" she would still need to raise $200k - how can a sick hairdresser do that?

She had healthcare before she falsified the documents. She was trying to get cheaper coverage. See below for how to solve that issue.

I don't think you joined the military just in case you became sick?

I joined the military because it used to be the easy way into adulthood, they offered free education and a hefty enlistment bonus.

Even if you did, what about your 47M fellow Americans who don't have insurance?

What about them? I'd rather take care of the more immediate problem of hunger and homelessness. If a person got no food and somewhere to live, healthcare is moot. You still haven't given me a "why" all 47 million don't have coverage. Or are you in this case happy with just some blanket assumption. That's not like you.

And the ones who do who get the coverage cancelled when they become ill?

There should be laws against that. That paperwork problem mentioned above would take care of itself after that. Knot made that suggestion long ago. And I agreed with her.

I offer no suggestions. She's ass out. She's gonna have to become near destitute and then rely on medicaid.

Not in this country, but in plenty of others.

Good for them. I'm happy for them. Germany has GREAT roads and $7/gallon gas. I'll take the potholes thank you.

It COULD be a right in the US and many people think it SHOULD be

So NOW you are gonna rely on polls. Again Gary, that's not like you. Talk about resorting to Trissie tactics...

And what about the millions of others in her situation?

The same as our test case lady here.

So are you for taxpayer funded healthcare or against it??

I'm for caring for those who can't help themselves. Children, disabled and elderly. Otherwise get off your ass and work like everyone else.

You seem to be playing both ends against the middle - that's a Trissie gang tactic!

In what way. I've been very clear since the beginning. You are the one arguing in a circle....Where have I heard that before? You wanna prove em right? Be my guest. We can do it til one of us gets dizzy.

Next you'll be putting me on ignore!

Not a chance. I've been dying for a chance to go at it with you. I'm sure you are having as much fun as I am.

See we can have a heated debate without one of us exiting stage right pouting furiously and putting the other one on ignore!

I hope Ali, Twissie, knotty, Cyn and all the other forum reprobates are taking notes on how it should be done!

I wonder what happened to foundit?

So now I'm looking forward to your new thread on solutions to America's shambolic health care snafu.
