Health Net has the right to accurate information on the application as well.
Many companies can fire you if you falsify items on the employment application, I don't see how this is any different. You are responsible for what you sign. If not, why sign applications and things like that at all? Your signature means nothing in that case.
You're both avoiding the central question - how does a hairdresser, or anybody on a similar income, come up with $200,000 for chemotherapy?!?

It matters not. She had no right to get cancer in the first place. And, it took extreme gall on her part to expect her insurance company to pay for it. You're supposed to pay premiums to insurance companies - not make claims that cost them money.

Maybe you're right

It's her own damn fault for getting cancer in the first place

Yeah! They should have been more careful not to catch it in the first place.

They didn't have a problem with her when they were taking her premium money and she was healthy.

Seems her 'pre-existing condition' had nothing to do with cancer, but a heart related problem.

So, they take her money for a while, then when she needs a payout, they cancel her.

God, I wish your health insurance would cancel you. But, wait, you have state health insurance. How very nice.

So who will you blame if you ever get cancer? You?

Well, the only thing I can say is at least, FX, you aren't a hypocrite. You never claim to be a Christian, at least.

PN is right about the American system - people should choose illnesses for which they can afford the treatment, and not get ill beyond their means.

At some point like it or not, we have to hold people accountable for their actions, if we do not, then we will never, and I mean NEVER, get to the point where the ideal of this country will succeed.

Damn, citizenship is such hard work.

You know what? THEY issued the policy without doing a thorough investigation. How responsible is that?

Ever hear of a health care company that didn't make someone have a physical or check their medical records before issuing a policy?

They didn't have any problem with this woman when she was making her premium payments. Oh, no, but when it's time to for them to payout, suddenly she's not good enough for them.

This is SOP for a lot of these rip off insurance companies. What needs to happen is to have a law that states that once they issue a policy they can't cancel for any reason. It leaves it up to them to investigate thoroughly before taking someone's money.

I already had thyriod cancer. Radiation treatments seems to have cured me. This was about a year before I had the blood clotting disorder that nearly cost me my life. I have blood/platlet donors such as yourself to thank for keeping me alive. I'm also thankful that my insurance covered the vast majority of the costs. Since then, I haven't had any major health problems.

Highway, I think you know me well enough to realize that my previous posts on this thread were sarcastic bullshit. I personally think it's disgusting that in America, some snot-nosed shit insurance company employee is making major medical decisions for us with the objective of getting a monetary bonus for his/her efforts.
