As for me, I try and do my best to stay out of hospitals and pay fewer doctor visits. Even though my employer pays for my health insurance, it still costs too much for doctor visits and medicine. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psalm 119:105

And unfortunately because of those types of cases, people who really need the assistance are either being denied or the assistance available is drying up. There simply isn't the funds available to offer any useful/finanacial support that's needed by those who need it most. That was what I was saying. Because of the 60% or more abusing the system, there's 60% or more who aren't receiving the help they desperately need. And of the 40% or less that are receiving some help because they really need it, they're not receiving all the help they deserve because the other percent has gotten their share taken out at the expense of others. Personally, we need a complete overhaul and reassestment of funds going out. Some type of group that overlooks those funds and guarenteeing that the funds go to those who need it most, then to those that need some type of assistance, and get those off of it that don't need it at all. But unfortunately, to do so means finding the funds to impliment such a task, and in the end that just means that those that need it most will do with even less help then what they already are receiving and fewer people who really need it getting denied...It's a vicious circle. The only way it could be accomplished, is those that do know of fraudulant cases, reporting those cases to the proper departments. It may smack of being 'big brother's watching', but for every fraudulant case reported, 1 family that really needs the help can get that help. And those who need it and are already receiving it, get a bit more help as well. Last edited by AlicornsPrayer; 02-01-2008 at 01:26 PM.

| No matter how anyone pays for a trip to ER, it is rather disconcerting to go there in the evening with a true emergency and find the waiting room cluttered up with a load of young mommas with toddlers, there for run-of-the-mill runny noses and ear infections. For cry and out loud, People, go to the walk in clinic or your regular family doctor during the day. Walk-in clinics are open quite late even to give folk lots of time to get an appointment. Save the ER for life-threatening conditions, accidents, and real injuries. And our Good Sarge here is right. The cost to be seen in ER is much more than in a regular clinic. Wherever there is "free medicine" there are lots of sick people. Want a prescription for Tussin??? OhDear Last edited by OhDear; 02-01-2008 at 01:54 PM. | |||||||||||||||||||||

| She got injured twice while on the job. She had several surgeries on her back and knees. She is in constant pain all day long. She wishes she could work, but her mobility is so limited now. She can't play tug with her dog. She can't lift, she can't climb ladders. She had cages put inside her back, then they were taken out in favor of rods. She very nearly died on the operating table a few years ago. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psalm 119:105 | |||||||||||||||||||||

| George W. Bush said on national TV that all American do have health insurance...they go to the emergency room. So you can thank our government and laws for a lot of the emergency room problems. | |||||||||||||||||||||

| He said it a month or so ago when he vetoed a bill for health insurance for poor kids. When he answered to the criticism he said they can go to the emergency room. | |||||||||||||||||||||
