A privilege you seek to deny to your fellow Americans (and resident aliens!). | They should join the military or something. I'm not saying the system ain't broke, but universal ain't my answer.

So everyone should join the military just to get health insurance??!
What kind of cockeyed solution is that??
It would be far cheaper just to implement single-payer universal health care, then we won't have to buy all those uniforms and boots.

Or do you prefer some strange kind of socialism where a small minority pay in and never reap t heir own benefits? |

Everybody pays to subsidise health insurance companies, directly or indirectly, but not everyone gets coverage.

Not gonna derail this discussion with homosexual talk.

FX gets such great care as someone who was in the Marines, what? 15 years ago? And wasn't even hurt in battle, yet our guys that are wounded in battle get this:
"Behind the door of Army Spec. Jeremy Duncan's room, part of the wall is torn and hangs in the air, weighted down with black mold. When the wounded combat engineer stands in his shower and looks up, he can see the bathtub on the floor above through a rotted hole. The entire building, constructed between the world wars, often smells like greasy carry-out. Signs of neglect are everywhere: mouse droppings, belly-up cockroaches, stained carpets, cheap mattresses." Soldiers Face Neglect, Frustration At Army's Top Medical Facility - washingtonpost.com
What's up with that? |

Yeah that sounds more like a NHS hospital in the east end of London

What's up with that? | I get care at regular hospitals, not the VA, or military facilities. Although the Army hospital in Hawaii was excellent. 15 years ago.
