Interesting Medical Care
Here's one for all the liberals who claim that medical care is unavailable to the vast majority of Americans...

Today I took our daughter to a Health Care Clinic that is housed in a Grocery SuperMarket nearby.
- It's a walk-in clinic. No appointments, and we were seen within 10 minutes of our arrival.
- Not a doctor, but a Physician's Assistant. Office charge was $45. If you have insurance, you file the paperwork yourself.
- She checked our daughter and confirmed what we suspected: Sinus infection.
- Went to the in store pharmacy and got the prescribed generic antibiotic (amoxicillin), and paid $4 for it. Did you catch that? $4.

Half-an-hour after arriving, we were on our way home with the needed medicine. Total cost: $49.00

So why is it that the people who won't flinch at paying $30 for a carton of cigarettes, and spend hundreds of dollars per month on Lottery Tickets, will scream and holler - claiming there is no affordable health-care available to Americans?

Wake up people! The liberals are not telling you the truth! Those pushing for socialized medicine have their heads up their arses! Affordable health-care IS available to Americans!

The good news and the bad
First of all, I think you would love to check out this blog:
Dr. Bob's Blog

It is truly wonderful that there are people dedicated to the betterment of others.

As to your experience, Jefferson. Nice.
But that was a sinus infection.

Try believing that health care is affordable if instead it would have been a condition that took many tests to diagnos, and many treatments to be given, for health to be restored.

Some of the most costly conditions are not the stuff of an acute infection, but ongoing issues like diabetes, epilepsy, abnormalities of the heart, immune system, etc.

Insurance was once like a little baby pet, as was the pharmaceutical industry. Insurance was the pet of the health care consumer and the pharmaceutical industry was the baby pet of the medical industry.

They were little and they knew who their masters were. But they got big and now are in charge.

Just like trying to raise a baby pet dragon, it was a matter of time before they too breathed fire. Rrraaahhh!

But let's let competition work!

Do you know why the prescription was $4.00? It's because that's the price at the WalMart Pharmacies.

Good, honest competition drives down prices.

So... let's limit the amount of time pharmaceutical companies can hold patents on new medicines - and let the development of generics lower the prices drastically.

Let's un-clog our hospitals and clinics of people with very, very minor conditions - such as a sinus infection. This is what the MAJORITY of what health-care is all about.

And let's stop awarding whining victims (and their ambulance-chasing lawyers) multi-million dollar lawsuits for minor and frivolous incidents.

The answers to Health Care Reform are not as hidden as we'd like to think!

I support that thought, Jefferson.

Though it was your saying this,

that got me to thinking solutions!

And imagine how many maladies could be cured if folk were told the benefits of regular colon cleansing!

Heck! This practice alone would, in the long haul, save loads of money on medical treatments that would no longer be needed...

Think of it as a cache cleaner for the body.

Concerning shopping around for the cheapest generic prescriptions: if you go to the same doctor (or doctors' office) and get your prescriptions filled at the same place all the time, there is a better chance that medications will not conflict with each other and wreck havoc in your body.

RE: Interesting Medical Care
My friend I think the public understands the need for action. Support for health care for all has always been strong, and the worsening crisis has raised the public’s sense of urgency. Americans know that even families who have health insurance today are just one pink slip away from being uninsured. In the battle to make affordable health care a reality for all, there is no substitute for leadership. The American Public Health Association has always been a powerful force for universal health care, and its continued commitment and activism are essential.

Consider yourself privileged... Find me a similar clinic in Philadelphia, Detroit, The Bronx, Southie in Boston...

I like Romney's stance on making health care "affordable" for all.
