I really do not think it is a healthy attitude toward sex, to compare it to using the toilet!

I do believe both are "private" but sex is in ways made private by the wonder of it! By it being shared intimacy. Sex is a high thing. It is nearly a miracle. To consider the deep and lasting impact two people can find together.

So yeah, it is not something that needs to be made common by dishing all the details to others.

But it is in no way private in like comparison to using the toilet!

But sex, for sex's sake, ought to be viewed in a healthy attitude that affords discussion and even a sense of humor, from time to time.

I feel that masturbation is a good thing, and if anyone wants to discuss it openly, that's just fine. It's bound to be more interesting than whatever other small talk we might be making.

But even though I have no problem with someone else talking about it, I tend to avoid talking about it myself.

I think most people feel uncomfortable with the subject. I don't think they have any good reason to feel uncomfortable, but still, if they don't want me to talk about masturbation, then I guess I won't talk about it.

And even when someone else is talking about his own experiences with masturbation, I don't join in, simply because I'm pretty me joining in would cause that person to think negatively of me.

In my opinion, using the toilet is a different situation. We naturally find bodily waste to smell horrible, look horrible, and be utterly and completely repulsive. Furthermore, it is very bacteria-filled.

In the case of masturbation, however, I argue that there is no natural repulsion, and I feel that your desire to avoid imagining someone masturbating is part of the society-created taboo on masturbation and nudity.

So in one case, we kind of have good reason to be repulsed. In the other, I don't think there is good reason.

I have no problem whatsoever telling people that I jerk off. . . I do it almost every night!
