Funny as it may seem, Benny Hinn scares me.

And I do wonder what kind of "power" he has or what kind of "weakness" the masses of people have to fall over at the whim of the evangelist.

They are desperate, often elderly people who are lonely, looking toward the end of their lives and are hoping to meet Jesus when they die, who are easily taken advantage of, and get duped out of their money unless relatives intervene.
These people are often struggling to survive as it is.

Somehow I got on his mailing list. He constantly sends me request for money 5k, 10k, 25k. As if I have that kinda cash to throw around, LOL

Not to detract from your sore disdain with the money hungry tactics of Benny Hinn's ministries, but per the video shared here and what I have seen of him time and time again, he is very well known for how people have a phenomenal experience of what is called, "being slain in the spirit" which is that falling over thing.

I wonder what that really involves. And must admit that at one time in my Christian life, I felt an attraction to it. I thought that if God would wipe me out like that, to do what charismatics call "carpet time" that He would somehow speak to me deeper or in a more certain way.

And so wouldn't ya know it, it happened to me once, and I felt a strange whoosh knock me backwards. And I was so sad, cos nothing happened other than it took me down. No revelation from the Divine.

But then one time a couple years after that, I was up at the altar praying as everyone was called up to the altar at the end of a service. And so I had my eyes shut and I had many things I was praying about and worshipping God too. And I did not even realize that the pastor and the guest minister came to me, and the next thing you know I felt just a gentle hand on my forehead and then I was on the floor. I can't even explain why but at the time I thought God was somehow telling me that he was listening to my prayer. Cos his power was there.

But that prayer actually did not get the answer I prayed for.

All the same, I have always been sorta troubled by those experiences, cos I wondered after the fact if they showed some kind of vulnerablilty in me not to God but to just another human being. And what it is all about.

I find it scariest to see how Benny Hinn can just whoosh a whole auditorium of folk to the floor.

I really do not believe now that it is ever truly God-instigated and wonder what the dynamics of such an experience really are.

I think a lot of it has to do with mass psychology. Hitler could have the same effect on people.

I also had a bizzare experience with the metaphysical. Not like yours or a Benny Hinn type of talking in tounges, hitting the carpet. I had actually died one time while on the operating table. It was a great moment in life and death. What it revealed to me was there is no god as we envision identify in life. It is much more dynamic and holistic.

Winston, I do not want to press or pry. But if you could share more of what your awareness is and how it came from what I would think qualifies as an NDE, I would be thankful to learn from you.

My poor body has been through so much shit it is amazing I'm even alive. My face has been through a car windshield and the left side of my body has more titanium in it that a M-1 tank the result of a motorcycle accident. I have had more surgery on my body than a bakers dozen of people would expect to have in a lifetime. Now onto my NDE.

I was having surgery to fix my left eyebrow (that was the windshield accident) while under a very strong general anathestic. One of the drugs the Dr.s gave me was to slow my heart beat. They happened to give me a touch to much and my heart stopped beating for about 2 minutes. During that time I left my body and was floating around the operating room. Everybody below me was in major panic mode. As far as myself I was perfectly happy. Never in my life had there been such a resolve. The aura,the feeling,the being was perfect. I was never so alive.

This has been both a blessing and a curse. The best thing is now a touch is more than a touch. It is an exchange of energy on a zero sum basis. It is like Kirlian photography Kirlian photography. There really is no rhyme or reason to this it just is an understanding. The curse to all this I have a very hard time dealing with the constructs of society. At times it so bad I'm unable function with in these manufactured confines. I find my solace in art.
