Not really, I was pointing out that there are a lot of unanswered questions about the topic, I didn't doubt the information as presented though.

You dismissed yourself with your inaccurate characterization.

I agree with you, though. They are ignorant.

Yes, we have acknowledged your unique, backward point of view.
No need to keep repeating yourself.
So you're saying your side doesn't care when people break vows?

'For better, for worse
For richer, for poorer
In sickness and in health
Forsaking all others
Till death us do part................'

Did your golden boy Newsom include a line about

'unless our jobs require us to live apart - then we can just walk away and forget about the whole thing'??

knowuryder: and I should care what some dullard on a message board thinks about me because why exactly?

Actually, that is a good post. If you really don't believe in what is atated above, you shouldn't get married

Of course not. I neither said nor implied any such thing.
I took my vows very seriously when I uttered them, and I still do.

I would hope that all people taking vows would do the same, but I know some will not. That is a far cry from not caring about broken vows.

On the other hand, you have made it clear that YOU believe breaking the vow of fidelity is A-OK, as long as the couple doesn't get divorced. This, despite the fact that the Christian faith and Jesus' own words disagree with you.

And while I'm here, you suggesting that all the people on "my side" all think the exact same way is just silly.

In the real world, there are many points of view, and many shades of gray.

Why must you try to simplify things to black and white?
It wins you no arguments, and makes you look, well...
I'll just say that I know you are smarter than this.

I agree with you. But not everyone getting married does.
And it certainly is not a legal requirement, so there we are.
The ideal versus the reality.
