| 'My Fellow Americans – Let's Roll' 'My Fellow Americans – Let's Roll' Neal Boortz Monday, Nov. 12, 2001 Those were the closing lines from President Bush* in his speech to the nation from the World Congress Center here last Thursday night. You do know where the words came from, don't you, the words "let's roll"? Those were the words heard on a cell phone by the wife** of one of the heroes of Flight 93, Todd Beamer. These passengers had just learned of the true motives of the Islamists who had hijacked their airplane. They knew if they did nothing, they would die. They also knew that if they did nothing, many others would die. These men decided that the dying was going to stop with them – and they attacked the hijackers, preventing them from reaching their intended target, most likely the White House or the U.S. Capitol. As the cell phone went dead, a wife heard her husband turn to the others and say, "Let's roll." Shortly after 10:00, 73 minutes after the first 757 slammed into the first World Trade tower, United Flight 93 crashed into a field in Pennsylvania. I wonder if the hijackers, in those last moments, realized their mission had ended in failure; and I wonder if the men who fought them knew, in those final seconds, of the lives they saved. The men of Flight 93, along with the men and women of the New York City public safety forces, were the first heroes of this war. *It sure is nice to put the word "President" in front of the person's name again **[Editor's note: Todd Beamer managed to reach a telephone operator; his last words were heard by the operator and relayed later to his wife.] It Really Doesn't Matter Anymore For some reason known only to God, the news outlets that did a recount of the recount of the recount from last year's election have chosen this time to release their findings. What did they find? Bush won. No matter how you count the votes – the over votes ... the undervotes ... the hanging chads – Bush won. This was a study done for seven news organizations by the University of Chicago ... and Bush won. The Supreme Court didn't cast the deciding vote, the voters of Florida did. One strange thing. So far as I can tell, there is NO mention of the uncounted military votes. Odd that they despair over the ways to divine the meanings of the hanging chads but fail to look at the cut-and-dried military ballots. This story isn't worth any more time. If you want to see how different newspapers in different parts of the country handled the story, "The Drudge Report" has compiled a list of links: http://www.drudgereport.com/ Just Thinking ... ... about this war on terror. A question: Has the United States done anything that a rational foreign power would not have expected it to do? An identifiable terrorist group murders almost 6,000 Americans. It's clear they intended to murder tens of thousands more. Would anyone doubt that the United States would respond? Has it come as a big surprise to anyone that George Bush has sought to build an international coalition to root out bin Laden and his followers and destroy them? OK ... here's what I'm driving at. Everything that the United States has done in response to the terrorist attacks has been predictable – expected. Doesn't this make you wonder just what bin Laden and his organization are really up to? Is some sort of a trap being laid? The Hildebeast Fires a Class Warfare Salvo OK ... who said this? "If we hadn't passed the big tax cut last spring, that I believe undermined our fiscal responsibility and our ability to deal with this new threat of terrorism, we wouldn't be in the fix we're in today." That quote, according to NewsMax.com, is from the lips of Hillary Clinton to the ears of Jonathan Karl on CNN. NewsMax believes that Hillary is blaming the terrorist attack on the Bush tax cuts. Well, since we're in the fix we're in today (vis-à-vis terrorism) specifically because of the attack on New York and Washington, the NewsMax conclusion could hold water. I see Hitlary's quote differently. I see here a pathetic and overt attempt on the part of this dangerous woman to merge the Democratic class warfare agenda with America's fight against terrorism. She is setting the stage for a class warfare campaign. I can almost hear the Clinton 2004 radio advertisements now: "The extreme Bush tax cuts of 2001 left our country without the economic resources it needed to deal swiftly and decisively with terrorism. While the wealthy have been enjoying their handouts, the sons and daughters of poor and middle income Americans have been fighting and dying in Afghanistan." Clip and save my friends. You'll hear those words out of Hillary's mouth when she makes a go at fulfilling her life's dream – running for the presidency. Shrillary and her Democratic fellow travelers know the emotional power of envy, and they know this envy can be exploited for political gain. Oh, and Speaking of Hillary ... As you know, some readers of this column have been causing a bit of frustration to the sweet old lady that runs the Hillary Clinton Forum (www.hillary.org). More specifically, these readers copied a Hillary picture from my online site (www.boortz.com/nealznuz.htm) and posted it on the Hillary forum. Last week I received a notice from Esme Taylor, the editor of the Hillary Clinton Forum, telling me that she was going to sue me if I didn't remove the picture from MY website. Fat chance. Leave it to Hitlary supporters to try to control the content of other folks' websites. Now – if you visit the Hillary Clinton Forum today, you see more threats. Now Esme Taylor, the editor, is threatening my readers with FEDERAL PRISON if they continue to post pictures to her forum. Here's an excerpt from the forum: Several hundred supporters of the radio personality Neal Boortz have written messages on the Hillary Clinton Forum, and sent emails to me, in an attempt to convince me that they have a constitutional right to freedom of expression to say and do anything they want on the Hillary Clinton Forum. Wrong. Freedom of expression is limited. Yes, limited. You are not free to shut down the operation of this forum by posting a huge load of images repeatedly. This is "Denial of Service" and it is a Federal crime. You can go to Federal prison if you get caught. Besides, it so juvenile. (sic) So there you go, folks. I've been threatened with a lawsuit because of something I've posted on my website ... and you've been threatened with federal prison if you post things on Esme Taylor's forum that she doesn't like. Is it any wonder this lady is a Hillary fan? Now, as for Mr. Hildebeast ... ... and that rambling, largely incoherent speech at Georgetown last week. I've read as much of the transcript as I can stand now, and I am not among those who feel Bill Clinton was trying to blame the terrorist attacks on our treatment of Indians and on slavery. All Clinton did was to point out, correctly, that "... the killing of noncombatants for economic, political or religious reasons has a very long history ..." He cited the persecution of Muslims by Christian soldiers during the Crusades (long before there was a USA). He said that the story of that persecution is still being told in the Middle East today and that we are paying a price for that. This is NOT blaming the terrorist attacks on past U.S. actions. Clinton also brought up slavery in the U.S. and the fate of Indians after whites moved to this continent. Again, though, he did NOT say that the terrorist attacks were payment for these parts of American history. Clinton didn't happen to mention that slavery once existed in virtually every society in the history of the world, and that the American Indians were doing the same thing to each other that whites did before the whites even got here. This time, though ... Clinton is getting a bad rap. That Magic Age When You Know Everything Seems there was a little demonstration at CNN Center over the weekend. About 200 people gathered to protest CNN's coverage of the war. They said CNN wasn't telling the whole story about Afghan residents and refugees who face starvation. I note from Newsday's coverage of the event that three people were arrested. Their ages were 21, 21 and 20. This would mean that they're right around that magic age at which humans know everything. In a couple of years these kids will start to acquire true wisdom – defined by the Talkmaster as "knowing what you don't know." In the meantime, I'm sure our national leaders will seek them out for advice on how to pursue this war. As soon as they post bail, that is. Bin Laden's Empty Threat? "I wish to declare that if America used chemical and nuclear weapons against us, then we may retort with chemical and nuclear weapons. We have the weapons as a deterrent." Well, there's your first indication that bin Laden doesn't have chemical and nuclear weapons. He's evil enough to use them if he has them ... and this threat to use them "if" shows his nuclear arsenal is nonexistent. There are plenty of people who share his cause who might possibly have those weapons, though, so the threat remains. Maybe I Did, Maybe I Didn't ... OK, I Did Despite previous claims to the contrary, Osama bin Laden finally admitted being behind the Sept. 11 attacks on the U.S. In a video currently circulating among terror groups in the Middle East, Osama says, "Yes, we kill their innocents." He also says that the occupants of the Twin Towers were not "civilians" because they were working for U.S. economic interests. That's his rationalization to get around the Koran's rule against killing innocent civilians, even in a holy war. Check out the last paragraph of this story in the London Telegraph about Britain's plan for catching terrorists inside their country; it's almost as chilling as Osama's words: http://www.portal.telegraph.co.uk/ne.../11/wbin11.xml The Sky Is Falling ... Well, Parts of It The Leonid meteor showers this year will be some of the heaviest in decades. The Space Shuttle is grounded until they pass, and the occupants of the International Space Station are preparing for a bumpy ride. Is it just me, or is the dawn of the new millennium looking particularly apocalyptic? More bin Ladenese: Sounds Like an Invitation to Me In his latest interview, Osama Yo-Mama says he is "ready to die." I think we should help him out in that regard ASAP. Let's not keep the man waiting. He also says that he has chemical and nuclear weapons and will use them if the U.S. uses them first. The U.S. believes he is bluffing about the nukes. Besides, I doubt that we'll use nuclear weapons first, but aren't we already using "chemical" weapons by bin Laden's logic? We're dropping daisy-cutter bombs that utilize ammonium sulfide. Isn't that a chemical? That's all this madman needs to justify killing innocents by chemical means. By the way, he is hiding in an underground cave/bunker. Sounds a lot like Adolf Hitler, doesn't it? Delusions of Grandeur The "Reverend" Al Sharpton is seriously thinking of running for president in 2004 and is opening a branch office in L.A. He compares himself to Martin Luther King. While he has no hope of ever winning a national election, the scary thing is that thousands of people will probably support him. By the way, would someone please tell bin Laden that an all-knowing, all-powerful, all-loving, all-encompassing, omnipotent God does not need a pipsqueak like him doing His business. He is fully capable of smiting his enemies by himself. It's always amazing how religious fundamentalists think that God is unable to take care of things by Himself. The arrogance these people display is amazing. Neal Boortz is the hugely popular nationally syndicated radio host. | |||||||||||||||||||||

| Live the Light, Give the Light, Bring Heaven to Earth Every Day! I am not a human being having a spiritual experience, I am a spiritual being having a human experience. The ancient Greeks used to say, "You shall know a man by the friends that he keeps." Given the nature of their friends and advisers, what are we to conclude about the Republican party: Stop the madness before us it stops!
