I love how I heard that these cards in no way would help immigration and customs enforcement. Right:
Officer: Hi would you like to pick up your Illegal Immigration ID card
Patron: Yes
Officer: Well just walk through that door *points*
Patron: Thank you

Patron then walks through door where they will be arrested and then deported.
No this will not be racial or stereotyping because EVERYONE who gets a "card" would be arrested. Because they are DEE DEE DEE stupid enough to go to a place where they are advertising ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION ID CARDS!!!!

I'm sorry. I didn't explain it well.

These are "City of New Haven I.D. Cards" - they are available to EVERYBODY...not only illegal aliens LOL. Of course, nobody else NEEDS one of these cards, as most people have their own driver's license i.d.'s, credit cards, debit cards, imprinted checks, utility bills in their names, etc. They're simply advertising that "undocumented workers" are also eligible for a card - heavily advertising. Plus, the fact, that about four months we made national news AGAIN because our mayor (who I usually agree with) declared our city a "sanctuary city." But - no, LOL - these aren't SPECIFICALLY illegal alien cards. I was angry when I wrote the original post and didn't explain it well. LOL

garysher brought up gay sex on a completely different topic thread.

I'm shocked - really shocked. That's so unusual for him

It's ABSURD. Forget about it just being wrong. There is no reason for it! We are a university city. We don't have big companies and factories with lots of jobs to offer. All we're going to do is bring in aliens for these cards - who won't even be able to get a job! And, they won't be eligible for any state benefits.

I usually am proud of my city - but tonight I feel like we've really struck an all-new low.

And it pisses me off.
Damn Damn Damn...I hate agreeing with Tristan on ANYTHING. But THIS IS BULLSHIT. We had an illegal in Ga sue for disability compensation and win???
Then my wife gets rear ended by one and we can't pursue the case because they weren't licensed and we couldn't find them. I guess what good it would have done anyway.
I'm so sick and tired of the government placating to hispanic illegals it drives me crazy.

99.9% of the reason these cards were created were because of illegal aliens...they said that the cards were for "everybody" because they didnt want to look racial.

The II's can always buy a fake driver's licence for about fifty bucks and avoid the problem.

I just got back from a quick trip to Mexico. It's easy to see why they would want to come here. To live in the squalor of a border town would be Hell. Specifically with Juarez/El Paso, those who have nothing only need glance north to see the El Paso skyline and the promise of a better life that it provides.

Basic services such as sanitation are lacking, the people want to trade in Dollars instead of Pesos, and children rush to any one speaking English begging for change. The difference between the rich and the poor is staggering, and there isn't a visible middle class.

We put caps on our immigration, which is understandable for our security, but a visit to Mexico a person would be hard pressed not to look through an illegals eyes for just a moment. I'm not saying that breaking the law is justified, simply understandable.

Dude, you want to talk about depressing, I spent a few weeks in the Phillipines when I was in the Marines. It brought tears to my eys to see how some of those people were living. And to see women, women that I knew in the U.S. would be sought after, being treated like meat and used like a paper towel, damn dude. That hurt.

And I spent a lot of time in Mexico when I was stationed in 29 Palms. That place isn't much better. Cept I didn't like the women as much. LOL Anyway though. I know what you mean. It's a no brainer to try and sneak across the border into the U.S. I just wish we were on the boarder with Laos or maybe Taiwan. At least the women would be hotter.
